Manga: Kaworu-kun to Hana no Mori
The heroine is a lovely, strong but kind girl in both stories, which concludes to the reason why I found these two mangas similar! They live a peaceful life and slowly discovers the excitement of falling in love with boys♥

Manga: Tora to Ookami
Aruitou is more complex than it seems from the start, in a similar vein, the author of Hana Yori Dango and Cat Street gives us a plucky heroine in Tora to Ookami. Although the heroine in Tora to Ookami is hardworking and the heroine in Aruitou is free-spirited, they both have an resilency to them and optimism that I think will resonate with shoujo lovers. Unrequited love for an artist is a theme in both manga.

Manga: Love! Love! Love!
Aruitou and Love! Love! Love! are shoujos that each have close friends and neighbors with a guy with unrequited love and troubles as the themes. The female characters and the relationships are rather similar - they differ in that Love! Love! Love! is an older work by the author of Lovely Complex and many other good shoujos while Aruitou is an ongoing work.
