This collection perfectly combines the simple beauty of art with the intricate complexity of the stories. There's a lifelike equilibrium in these stories, that makes you hear the flutter of the wings of the butterfly. Bitter-sweet mildness intertwined with dark intensity is present throughout all the stories. Characters are unrelenting - they offer no explanations – they are who they are.
It astounding how a work of art can feel so profoundly real, and yet still be somehow celestial. Chou ni Naru Hi is like life – harsh reality interspersed with freckles of heavenly beauty.

I loved the first one. It had an almost Walk to Remember feel and was very good. I was hoping for the rest to be just as good. I was wrong. Don't take me wrong the first ones were worth reading but as they went on they were monotonous and I did not feel a connection to the story. I did not finish it because I could not stand the later ones. So as for my review it is alter by the last ones. I strongly suggest that you read this but don't feel obliged that you have to finish it.

Manga: Soshite Koi ga Hajimaru
Short stories illustrated by Yumeka Sumomo involving teenage angst and self-acceptance. Some of the stories involve some level of shounen-ai or at least male friendship, and most center around difficulty understanding personal relationships.

Manga: Dousaibou Seibutsu.
They both have a collection of sweet little romance-filled stories and they're by the same author.
