I can't count how many times I was reading Nightmare Inspector and was thinking "Wow this reminds me so much of Mushishi" and vice versa. Both of these manga have these strange little stories involving supernatural activities. Although, both main protagonist are very different, Hiruko doesn't care for the customer as long as he gets his nightmare while Ginko really tries to help them. Also Nightmare Inspector's stories usually end bad while Mushishi's usually end good. Either way if you like one you'll definitely like the other, although Nightmare Inspector is like a darker version of Mushishi.

Both are dark manga that contain episodic chapters, and both have horror themes.

These two manga aren't entirely the same, but something that is comparable is what the main characters do after they solve a mystery/dispell nightmares. They eat them. Neuro eats the mystery to fill himself, and Hiruko does the same but it's dreams.

Both have mini-stories involving a supernatural-like person solving problems.

Nightmare Inspector: Yumekui Kenbun and xxxHOLiC are both very similar in characters and plotline. In Nightmare Inspector: Yumekui Kenbun there is a boku who runs a cafe and also helps people get rid of their nightmares. xxxHOLiC is similar because there is a witch who runs a shop and helps people with there everyday supernatural problems. The mini stories in both are also very similar, both have supernatural undertones and surprising twists and turns. I recomend both!

Both have similar vibes and supernatural "caretakers". The main location serves the same purpose - providing a base for the MC and a place to get what they want from their customers. In Nightmare Inspector's case it's nightmares since the MC is a dream eater; In Phantom Tales' case it's secrets. Both also follow the pattern of one main story per chapter, with an episodic customer of the week. Although Phantom Tales has a more immediate overarching plot.

- People come looking for help from a young boy - The young boy is not human (one is a demon the other a baku) - Have a girl they live/hang out with - They get some form compensation for their deeds

Both manga have immortal characters in them.

They are both episodic manga that have a secret underlying plot to keep everything moving. Both are similar in the way that the main characters are sought for their abilities to solve the problems of various people. Both GREAT manga, and GREAT reads.

Stories about immortal characters.

Both are dark and episodic. Tousei has a little more humor, while Nightmare Inspector deals specifically with, you called it, nightmares.

In each series, the main character must solve mysteries, often involving death or the supernatural, so others can be at peace. In Nightmare Inspector, this centers around patrons experiencing...well...nightmares, while in Genjuu no Seiza, those in trouble range from the living to lonely spirits. Both protagonists have an unique power which makes them so effective. Lastly, the art in each is well done.

Horror and the supernatural are common traits of these two series. Both main characters run shops wth supernatural themes, and only serve their customers with certian conditions in place. Also, each have chapters with contained stories.

Both center around a shop which deals with the supernatural. Their customers have dark problems which are solved by either K or Hiruko at a strange cost. These problems are often rather bizarre... Also, the female lead in each story has a dead brother. If you like one, you'll probably like the other.

They both serve costumers and have interesting plotlines that are hard to understand; they also involve things where they have to "gain" something, per say.

Both deal heavily with life's regrets. Nightmare Inspector has a protagonist who enters dreams and helps clients with their nightmares full of regret or longing. Yumekui Kenbun is the closest thing to a Loop serialization and it is quite good.

The premise of both is very similar. There is a shop run by a baku and his assistant(s) where people go to rid themselves of their nightmares. The baku in both (Hiruko in Nightmare Inspector or Baku in Sousoukyoku Nightmare) is very focused about getting their sustenance and seemingly not much else. So far, Nightmare Inspector shows more character development and backstory, while Sousoukyoku Nightmare is nearly entirely focused on the personal reformations of the guests.
