Friendship and the complications involving love during school life are the main theme in both manga. Both involves a duo of central characters, each of whom discover the value of the other in their social life. 

Both manga revolve around a group of four high school boys and their daily school life. They both have great friendship, shenanigans, interesting characters and a bit of romance.  

It is also a shoujo with male main characters set in an all boys school and is also a slice of life story about their school life. Seiho is more comical while Seishun Kouryakuhon is more sentimental and nostalgic. However the synopsis of Seiho does it a disservice because it has a lot more depth to it than the synopsis would suggest, so it does have friendship and a slice of life and the characters are much deeper than what the write up for it suggests.
