Synopsis

A teacher's body is discovered on the ground. Did she jump from the building or was she pushed? Toyama, a burly but kind-hearted detective, goes undercover to find out the truth. His determination to solve this mystery is tested by the rowdy student body. But there's one student, in particular, who is going to occupy a lot of Toyama's time. Makoto is a troubled young man who can actually see the demons inside of people, which manifest themselves as visions of horrible monsters. This strange student's disturbing visions may provide the information that Toyama needs to crack the case!

Mixed Feelings
(Volume 1) Good school mystery manga! Some of the jokes are hilarious, and the main character, Toyama, is a huge softie. Since it's focused on an elementary school, many of the "demons" present are pretty tame. Body horror is an interesting touch and makes a bullying story unique.
I enjoy how Toyama is a flawed character who doesn't do everything right the first time. Rather predictable monster-of-the-issue format but I enjoyed it because that's one of my personal favorite tropes. Since the chapters are mostly self-contained in this first volume, the pacing is good.
The side characters with "demons" are introduced in the episodes they star ...
