Ao Ashi is quite similar to Diamond no Ace, but it takes a deeper dive into tactics and the mental states of players. It also explores the differences and rivalries between youth schools and regular schools in more detail. Overall, while Diamond no Ace has a slice-of-life element in the sense that it doesn't focus solely on intense action-packed competition all the time like Haikyuu or Ao Ashi, Ao Ashi will offers an even more technical perspective on the sport and the league environment. While I'm recommending Ao Ashi, Oshi no Ko is another good choice. It's essentially the same as Ao Ashi but delves deeply into the entertainment industry instead, with added drama, mystery, and romance. read more 

Diamond No Ace and Ao Ashi are great series. Main characters and side characters are very well-written and talented. Although Daiya is baseball and Ao Ashi is football, they similar in a way where they will make you fall in love with the sport they represents. Inspiring, realistic, funny, wholesome, and many more emotions brought to you by both. They are long running and takes their time for overall development so it requires patience but trusting the process is all worth it. Very good story. If you're a fan of Diamond no Ace, Ao Ashi is a must read.  

Baseball mangas. Pretty different flow of story and character personalities but overall it's good. 

Baby Steps features a main character similar to Eijun Sawamura by the name of Maruo Eiichiro. They are similar in that they are both diamonds in the rough in their respected sports but with hard work and dedication, they begin to make names for themselves.  

Smoky BB and Diamond no Ace tells of a story with baseball elements. The main male character plays on their team (although with different circumstances). Throughout both series, we see their skills evolve as they learn about the competitive atmosphere of the game. Rivalries are established while friends are also made. Both of these sports manga are choices to pick if you're interested in baseball.
