Main character from both manga struggled not only about loving a person with the same gender but also had similar problems dealing with their own feelings. Both manga are great and realistic when compared to how real-life settings

Both are realistic and heartwarming yuri series that show the girls change through their relationships, though Girl Friends is much less serious.

both are manga about realistic lesbian relationships with slight darkness (conflict, confusion, dilemma, etc). reality is not as beautiful and perfect as what you ever imagine.

Rabbit hole followers, this way! I could've gone with either of the next two for this next step, not that I'm actually planning this out, but our next story is Octave, the most dramatic of the stories so far, and the first of the two adult stories I'll be covering. Fair warning, it's more sexual than any of the other stories so far, so if you're not into that, trust me, you're missing something fantastic, but it's not quite as "necessary" as some of the others on this list, like the one after our next stop! Bear with me, we're not far from the end  read more

Mature GL drama stories

Though Prunus Girl tends to narrate more about sexuality issues and is far more light-hearted, both of these manga have lots of good shoujo-ai elements and delicate relationship.

Both manga deal with adult relationships, starting in a sort of strange way. They also are quite dramatic and show a variety of problems that people face in their lives.

Both Cat Street and Octave have main characters that used to work in the entertainment industry when they were younger but they got disillusioned with it. Both mangas are about former female stars who are alienated by their peers and as a consequence withdraw in their shells. Becoming introverts. Both mangas have their main characters slowly coming out of their shells and developing bonds with other people. Both mangas have psychological elements as well as social commentary. I highly recommend them !

Music, fame, sex, romance, and a strong love between two women. Both are wonderful romantic dramas and coming of age stories. The major difference is that Octave is a lesbian romance while Nana focuses upon the love of friendship.

Although Solanin isn't yuri, it has the same atmosphere and melancholic MC as Octave.
