SynopsisYuuri Shibuya is an average high school student whose passion in life is baseball. That is until he intervenes in the bullying of a classmate, Ken Murata, and gets his head dunked in a toilet. Surprisingly he is sucked into the toilet, and ends up in another world. When he reaches dry land, he sees some people dressed in medieval costume and speaking in some weird vernacular. He assumes that it is a theme park of some sort. However, the people are afraid to see him and begin to pelt him with stones. There he meets Adalbert von Grantz who uses some form of magic so Yuuri understands the local language. Conrad Weller and Gnter von Christ then rescue Yuuri and take him to Blood Pledge Castle, the residence of the Maoh, where he soon finds out he is the new Maoh or Demon King will rule over 'Shin Makoku' ("True Demonic Kingdom") (眞魔国).
He also meets up with Wolfram, to whom he accidentally becomes engaged through a mishap.
Throughout the series, Yuuri is constantly confronted with the results of even the smallest choices he makes. With a strange power dwelling inside of him, Yuuri becomes a deliverer of justice in the world of Shin Makoku.

Well, the story starts to develop very strongly a little before mid-way.
If you ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION TO THE BEGINING, Yuuri is clearly straight (i'm saying this to all the people who get akward with gay characters or a storyline with them. AND YES YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!) oh by the way i'm one of them! just not as bad as SOME PEOPLE (Maz-Maz).
Warining: this is going to be long so just make sure to read the bottom. You can skip the middle if you like.
Anyway, the character have diverse qualites and personalities. For example the queen and also mother of Wolfram, Conrad, and Gwendal. She acts of her own wanting and loves to be in love, not to mention being mischivious. Or Gwendal, the super serious character who has a "suprising" hobby considering his personality ( it's more of something that you'd picture a girl doing).Don't forget his childhood friend (who will remain name-less in this review), the somewhat mad scientist, who is ,well, pushy and comanding, which is suprising (at least to me) because when she first came into the story, that wasn't my first impression of her. Wolfram's character suprised me a lot because the first impression of him i got was a snotty rich kid of noble blood who believed their kind (demons) was far better than humans in many ways, and was supeirior to commoners and such. If you start to watch or read kyo kara maoh, i think you'll be suprised with how his personality develops.
It's genres would be Fantasy, Magic, Comedy, Action, and some more.
If people put anything like yaoi or gender-bender, it's incorrect. The relation that makes people think that is accidental ( the author states this in the summary of the manga and i am 80% sure it is stated in the anime). If you watch the first episode or read the first volume you'll see what i mean by accidental. Oh by the way, this anime has no kinds of perverted-ness (pervertiveness relates to sexual-like things, which this anime definetly does not have ).
There are some sad stories included into this series (mainly from some of the people they meet along the way).
One of the main reasons i love this anime is that it has comedy in it while inducing some political qualities ( because their trying to run a kingdom and dealing with the problems of two different races at each other's throats, and that are trying to start a war), and inducing somethings that are said which could be taken as important life lessons. Not only that, it introduces new points of views, not only to the characters inside the story, but to the viewers as well.
It includes all of this to viewers who like series which actually have some reasoning or messages in them. Plus, to the the viewers who just like watching series to pass the time, and to enjoy themselves, this series can just be that as well. It's not full of just learning material, actually if you just simply follow the storyline as it is, and not looking into the story (basically if your not like me who looks into things(well only somethings if i feel like it) for the messages on purpose ), you won't notice anything if your like that.(if that sounded rude or offensive in any way i apologize, it was not intended)
Thats about half of what i'd like to say but i'll stop here because i know you have better things to do and listen to my opinion all day long.
Well simply put, it's a good series.... so try giving it a chance. Just one episode will suffice. oh and sorry for all my spelling mistakes. Math and creativity are my strong points but spelling and grammar are.... well not. Hahaha, i've gotten above average grades for my essays and stories but almost never get a perfect because of spelling and grammar. Well nobodies perfect right? ....... teehee.... i ended up making the last paragraph about me, sorry about that. Well just give this anime/manga a chance, please?
hope you found this somewhat useful and sorry i went overboard again.
....................................................................................sorry for saying sorry too much. .......................................sorry about that, kinda made it pointless to say sorry about saying sorry. Sorry for making you read mor -ah! I said sorry again! sorr........................................................................................
aie....... i've gotta stop being sorry....... well saying sorry at least.............
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........................
well bye! (^^')
P.S. Sorry bout makin you read so much and going on and on about my habit. OKAY! THAT'S IT! I'LL STOP TALKING NOW BEFORE I WRITE ANOTHER PARAGRAGH! uuummmmm........ BYE!

What happens when you see a friend getting bullied?
You try to protect them, right?
So you go up to the bullies and well, then you realize your friend ran off and now the bullies want to dunk your head down the toilet, what happens next?
You get flushed down the toilet of course!
If that didn't happen to you, reasons aside, then it's what happens to the main character of this story.
The story was forgettable in its' myriad of clichés, it was fun and easy-going for the main character to realise that he is the king of all Demons and with the help of his extremely gay pals, he’ll learn a lesson everyday while acting completely irresponsible…
What is this? Barney the Purple Dinosaur?
It was insulting. The fact that not only is this story spitting on almost every religion in the world (aside from Luciferianism, Satanism, Witchcraft, etc.) by presenting magic and sorcery as exciting, stylish and that witches are all goody-two-shoes that are completely understanding and have a great sense of humanity, not even mentioning that (somehow) EVERYONE is born with magic. So it’s all cool, Bro…
Where did that come from?
I don’t know.
The story had the nerve to be completely and ridiculously shallow in its attempts to show a young, straight, 15-year-old (it was repeated so many time in the story, I HAD to write his age) ‘child’ [as he calls himself, strangely enough] trying to be a respectable (respectable my @!!) king-of-all-Demons.
What’s so shallow about that (apart from the obvious)?
Where should I start?
a) The main character is so ‘young’, aka. immature, that he holds lofty, appeasement-style ideals but when something doesn’t go his way he throws TANTRUMS!
I mean seriously, how old are you? And weirdly, he blames it all on his age, what a fine king he will become… Yeah, right.
b) This whole book is in the workings of a Shounen-ai story, where the Hell is the straightness when he is constantly being held by men (and BOYS [paedophilia is great, isn’t it?]) while having flowery side-effects in the background?
*Sighs*
*Sighs… again*
c) What kind of King can’t depend on himself and is completely relying on his unreasonably loyal servants? The answer: Shibuya Yuuri (and what is up with his first name (Yuuri); a play on words much? {take a hint, remove one ‘u’}).
I could go on FOREVER but the story doesn’t deserve your and my time.
Summary: it is a depthless Manga, with shallow plotline and characters.
The illustrations were the lovely mainstream style that you and I enjoy immensely for its lack of detail, proportion and realism. This is also true when addressing the style of the illustrator, and the art’s ability to present features and emotions on characters, with the added plus of just OUTSTANDING scenery.
Dear readers, the sarcasm in the paragraph above is dripping on to the conclusion of this review, please be aware that it is concentrated and is harmful in direct contact.

Overall, the story and art can be described by one word: SHALLOOOOOOOOOW.
The quality of this Manga is down the drain from page one, sure if you are not a serious reader and want a quick laugh (though I didn’t find it funny) you may find this satisfactory however, if you do like reading and/or have attained taste, you will be retching the entire time so have mercy on yourselves and don’t read it. read more

Similiarities:
•The protagonist of both manga is a ruler of a kingdom in another world.
Dissimiliarities:
•The protagonist in one manga lose his magical powers, while in the other one did't
•The protagonist in one manga can't go back and forth between worlds
•The main female in one manga is a heroine with a holy sword

Both protagonists from modern day japan travel to another world and go on adventures with the help of their new friends :) Kyou Kara Maou is more light hearted, Saver is more serious but it still has its amusing moments. Both have meaningful and beautiful storylines that I have re-read countless of times.
