I also own volumes 1-8, they're awesome. Too bad Tokyopop gave up translating after volume 8, but at least there is a very good fan translation for volume 9 (hosted at Baka-Tsuki). And apparently, they're planning to translate all of them. =D

I have only read the 1st and 9th volume of the novels. can't seem to find 2 through 7 anywhere online. if there's any site that hosts those said novels, care to point me in the right direction?

as for volume 9 onwards, yeah, like confused_kitsune mentioned, someone is working on translating and releasing them. though its been a while since the Slayers page on B-T was updated.

The anime series cover most of the novel series, doesn't it? How much content in the novels isn't covered in the anime?

the first Slayers TV series and Slayers NEXT were adapted from materials of volumes one through 8. TRY is mostly new material not taken from the novels and was more of a shameless plug for Hajime Kanzaka's other project, Lost Universe. as for Revolution/Evolution-R, as far as I know, Zuuma was a character in volume 6 of the novels. its a mixed bunch of canon and non-canon.

hopefully, the Dynast Arc gets adapted soon. maybe this time around, somewhere around the neighborhood of 10 years or less. lol

I also bought volumes 1-8, and I loved them as well. I also like how Lina is a bit more "vulnerable." She almost dies multiple times which makes Gourry seem more necessary as a bodyguard.

They need to translate the final novels! I mean, they're the ones whose stories have never made it to an anime, so they'll be completely new!!! I admit, I have already heard of the Blast Blade and the Luke arc, but I need details dammit!

hmm i don't think they will publish more volumes in engklish. Our last hope are translating groups like Baka-tsuki. Unfortunately they aren't translating any more Slayers volumes ( if i remember they translated few of them)

Well that's unfortunate. I may have to check out some fan-lations sooner or later, but as others have mentioned I would prefer to own an offcial publication. Oh well. :(

I'm up to volume 17 of the latest edition of the main novel. I think I have read about 15 of the external novels without paying attention to the order in which they were published. I have read three smaller novels.

I also read Slayers VS Orphen and Slayers 25th Anniversary Ansorogi.

@kihel What language did you read them in? I can't find any translated in English except the first 8.

I usually read in Japanese. I think I just didn't look hard enough, because when I search in Japanese to see if the novel has been translated, I find an article about the latest 17 volumes translated in English.

@Slayers363

It's not a seasonal work, and its readership is limited, so I can understand why it's a bit disappointing that it's not being translated into a library. Well, it's better that you can read it in an electronic version.

Well, I don't think drama CDs and such have been translated, so if translations can be done smoothly, there will be more content that we have not been able to enjoy!
