Honestly, I think giving a definition such as gay, bi, pan or lesbian can be misleading in a way, because many seem to associate it solely with sex, and it is not just that for everyone. As it seems some are auto-combining sex with love, and sure that is important and natural process, but being able and willing to love someone, no matter the gender is different for many than being able to actually feel sexual desire towards them. I, like many people, can LOVE anyone based upon themselves as a person not as a certain gender, and often do throughout our lives no matter what gender we are primarily attracted to sexually. That is loving someone without regard to other things also, nationality, religion, beliefs, etc. I think my strongest love, the kind empty of any artifice, was for a woman, a deep unrequited love I will always hold dearly you know? But I've never had a physical relation with a woman. (I am only saying of this to example my point.) Almost everyone loves, so we call all be called pansexual in a way, because we are open to loving anyone. We want to be loved, well, truly and honestly, so we are open to accepting the ones who can do this, no matter the gender, etc. This is "love" love LOL :-) I hope I explain well enough what I mean or suggesting. A lot of people are familiar with the term and have even studied sexuality in a psychological setting, but it is a newer term that seems to like to be used more now. While some of us are older and our bodies, minds and hearts have naturally decided for us what sexually is most comfortable and exciting for us. It is not a matter of closing off from it. I think it is just more popular these days to say one is pansexual, than bisexual. Bisexual after all is an accurate term in many ways, because there are only two genders, and if you are bisexual you can be sexually attracted to either. I agree, loving is a total different thing! Pansexual suggests to me, although I know the definition, that their are more sexes than just two. magelet said: You're not alone, Sakura! I'm pansexual too. It's just most people aren't familiar with the term so it's easier to say bi. >< Sakura_Amarante said: Im pansexual i dont care actually as long i love the person :) i'd even date a drag queen or a trans..nothing matters just love<33 Haha im the only one here <_< Lets just say im bi than >.< |

The term pansexual is inclusive of these people, where as saying bisexual implies that you would not love someone who falls into that catagory, and I would. |

The term pansexual is inclusive of these people, where as saying bisexual implies that you would not love someone who falls into that catagory, and I would. Absolutely wrong. Simply this. You don't know me, so please don't assume anything to that effect. My saying that does not imply I would not love someone who is bisexual. So please, before you assume something wrong, ask for clarification. I am a person always willing to discuss, and though I speak quite plainly, I also listen with interest as openly to replies from those who might disagree with something Ive said. I was married to a bisexual man for a number of years so yes, I can, do and have loved people of all kinds. Love and need, desire and even simple want has no bounds to subject for one really seeking a kindred soul. I know some people don't identify as either gender. The term pansexual can be inclusive of those people. If you try to go into minute detail of anything sure you can continue to compartmentalize everything single thing and try to say what is wrong to say, etc. etc. etc. When referencing that term I was referencing strictly to the sexual sense of it regarding sexual intercourse", not as someone calling themselves one thing or the other, i.e. referencing their person. |
