That image needs to be divided into four parts. The top bar that reaches over the whole width from the top until the MAL Signature starts. The MAL sig is one picture and the part right next to it is one picture. The bottom is a bar over the whole width like the top image. ![]() Hope it helps, sry for the crappy explanation. Forum code needs to look like this (I assume you've dealt with image codes before, so I'll put up a simplified version): [Image1] [MALsigImage][Image2] [Image4] Hope that makes sense. :::::::: PHOTOSHOP TUTORIAL BY AERO :::::::: :::::::: GIMP TUTORIAL BY MATHES :::::::: For PHP Signatures, Signatures with different text effects etc. go to the Signature Scripters Club. Sorry to bother you, but I still don't have a clue how to do this... I have my picture, then how do I put it in my signature? I'd be grateful if someone could help me... Solid. PD: I know nothing about codes, don't know if I need that kind of knowledge to do this... ![]() "Is this not what you expected to see?" |

Well, first make sure all your images (minus the MAL sig image) are uploaded to a free hosting site, like Photobucket or Imageshack. Next, you go to Edit Profile > Forum Settings As Stench said, if you quote his post you'll be able to see what his codes look like. But I'll put them here, anyway, using curly braces instead of square brackets so you can see them. {url=http://myanimelist.net/animelist/solid-snake&sclick=1}{img}image1url{/img} {img}MALsigurl{/img}{img}image2url{/img} {img}image3url{/img}{/url} Of course, you may need to rearrange them, especially the second row, depending on where in your banner the MAL sig is placed (left, right, or middle). If you want it centered, put {center} above and {/center} below the images. Just remember to use the square brackets! :) Modified by Goldmare, 11-19-07, 6:53 PM |

Well, I don't know why you can't edit your post, but as for your signature, I will assume that a big part of the problem is that your images are not sized correctly. I don't know why they turned out that way, but the top and bottom slices aren't even the same length, and the center images are taller than the sig image (they need to be the same height in order to fit properly). You'll need to put the pieces back together and re-slice them so that they will fit with the MAL sig. Also, in order to get the images to work with that sig image style (the old version) requires a somewhat different approach from the one that I gave. To be specific, you have to take those two center images, put them together as one image, and upload them as the background when editing your sig. Edit My Profile > My Signature At the very bottom will be a place to upload the background image (you will need to check the box). You'll need to change the width of the image to fit the background as well (according to my calculations, it'd be 399 px, though the top slice would be too short). Don't forget to change the colours in your sig to match the background image and make sure it's legible (though, with your background the way it is, it probably won't be totally legible). |

Thankyou very much again Goldmare! After reading what you have said, I guess it won't be possile to do it with this picture, since it is too small:
Just one more thing, are you sure there is a place to upload a the background image? Because I can't find it anywhere, and probably it would be enough for me. I'll get another one and see what happends. Thanks again! Solid. ![]() "Is this not what you expected to see?" |

No problem. :) There is, but it isn't immediately visible on the page. Edit Profile > My Signature At the bottom of the page, there will be a checkbox ("Check to use a custom background"). Once you have it checked, the browse button to upload an image from your hard drive will appear. If you see a link below that says "remove current background image" then you'll need to click that link first, but since you don't have a background right now, that shouldn't be necessary. ^ The above works only with the first two signature versions (the once with "Custom" in drop-down list). I just looked at your signature again, and assuming you haven't changed the style since the last time I was here, then you aren't even using that style. D'oh! >_< Makes me feel a bit... dense, having not paid enough attention to which signature style you're using. :/ With that sig style, the previous set of instructions, where you just put images to the sides and match the sig colours to them, is the one you should use. Mind you, either way your previous sig image wouldn't have fit. XD; The trick is to find an image that you can basically cut a hole out of that is the exact size of your MAL sig (260x113), and slicing it up appropriately, or just finding one single image that is exactly 113px high that you can just put right beside your MAL sig (which is what I used to do before I got into the more advanced style, so maybe you should try that first). It's a bit of a pain getting the RGB values for the MAL sig colours, though. If you need a hand with that, I'd be happy to help. :) |

My assumption was that the height limit was only for the image itself. Which would make the most sense, because aside from avoiding a lot of scrolling, size limitations are also to avoid too much loading time for pages (on which only the images have any real effect). I don't really see why the height would be limited to a mere 110px and yet also include any additional text... doesn't seem fair at all. That aside, most people are over the signature size limit, including you (though by only 3px), and some mods. I think I've only been warned once for signature size. Never been bothered about this one, and it's been like this for nearly a month. (Just watch, I'll get messaged about it now :P) |

You don't technically put the data "in your sig" but, rather, you use the sig image provided by MAL. Like this: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Of course, you'll need to edit the sig so that the colours match. To do that, go here: Edit Profile > My Signature And change the colours accordingly. You enter the colours in using the RGB values, so you'll either need to use an image program to find out what they are, or, if you use Firefox, you can get the Color Picker add-on (a very handy tool that I use regularly, myself). Though, first you'll need to change the signature type to Recent Anime Updates (with 4 rows), before changing the colours. By the way, it looks like the top and bottom images are an extra pixel long... might want to shave off the right edges. :) |
