I did like No.6 though.

I watched No.6 on Crunchyroll without knowing that they were going to end up together, and yeah, it was pretty good. I liked how the fact that they were both dudes was not played up or gimmicky, and it just happened like a straight love story.

That was perhaps one of the best things about the romance in that show, but I could go on forever about how many things I thought No.6 did right. Moving on..

First yaoi was Sensitive Pornograph. I don't think that was the best thing to start with, but it happened, my reaction was a mix of "what the hell am I watching" and "why do I think this is hot".

Overall though I don't have much of a problem with yaoi, though I'm not a huge yaoi watcher. I can enjoy it when I just want something cute/mindless, but I like my yaoi like I like most of my anime: with a story I can get into, characters I get emotionally invested in, and a lot of things that make me fall on my knees crying about how much this anime is ripping out my heart and stomping on it.

Call me a masochist.

Lol! I first watched Gravitation when I was like 12 and I actually remember doing an english powerpoint book project on one of the light novels!
I really liked it the first time I saw it.

First Yaoi was doujins.

My first impression of them were that they are trash, disgusting abominations that turn character derisive, mere shells of their original selves for the uses of one's sickening fantasy and sexual perversion without a hint of resemblence of what the character was. Should be disposed trash that should be burnt in hell. After all, if they are going to make that kind of bullshit up, might as well write their own characters, it is unforgivably offensive that they desecrate other people's work like that.

Yeah, I didn't take it too well.

I watched a Yaoi anime with a friend of mine not too long ago (male), it was dandy and all at first. Then we got the sudden urge to reenact the scene itself.

That led to us having sexual intercourse afterwards.

I guess I hated it at first. Now I like it, somewhat. But the well known Yaoi that every fan talks about Junjou RoMONKEYta is the worst shit I ever watched. I like my men to be men, for god's sake.Well, I usually don't mind if they are a little feminine, but fucking hell. wtf is junjou. even lolis are manlier than that shit

Oh well. I admit at first I was a little disturbed. Probably because I was still a pure little girl... I don't even remember what my first yaoi (manga, that's a given) was, probably a doujin... But my interest kept rising after I read Houkago Hokenshitsu, that technically is not a shounen ai, but almost. I timidly began searching for yaoi manga by the same author, and I became more familiar with the genre. Now I don't have any problem with yaoi, I play/read BL visual novels too. I don't have problems with hentai or yuri too, but I prefer yaoi. Anyway I don't consider myself a fujoshi.

Haha sounds like a yaoi plot. It's so interesting to see everyone's reactions because it didn't affect me that much in the beginning. Reading shoujo gets me depressed so I just stick with yaoi. It never fails to give me fluffy feels although I do agree with the seme uke thing mentioned before.

I can't remember first yaoi but I remember thinking: SO CUTEE I need moar!

That's probably everybody's real reaction, or just a simple "oh, this is yaoi.. *exit*"

But to preserve the all important image of a straight guy, we must make it incredibly apparent that we hate all that has to do with homosexuality, and must act as if we are scarred beyond repair for having behold witness to the utter terror and appalling sight that is the ungodly abhorrence of *GHASP* yaoi.

No, I don't have a fear of yaoi nor do I have the desire to keep this important straight guy image (I was joking around being in a gay club during my O'Levels). I just don't feel the need to watch two guys go all the way. Besides, it's only recently that I even started liking yuri.

lol my response to you was mostly targeted at the people who seem to freak out and go "WTF GAYY". As if the concept of homosexuality is truely foreign and frightening, yet they seem to see it in every situation every time two male characters get within 1 foot of each other. You know who I'm talking about.. they're everywhere.

Well, the Shinsekai Yori forums is certainly a good place to find them, though I guess I should say it was a good place to find them.

I was pretty indifferent. After a few years, I really got into it.

Though, I remember my cousin's reaction when we watched together something shounen ai (he had no idea what that meant).

Then it comes to the kissing part and I was like:
Me: Finally! I've waited for this the whole f*cking series!
Him: ... Did they just kiss? ... They're gay...
Me: Yeah! 'Twas awesome!
Him: WTF *leaves room with a confused look*
