| I think that shinsekai is as a cyberpunk in history, but it has a different aesthetic. Anyway if you ask only for examples you can test with fantastic children, dennou coil, eve no jikan, ima soko ni iru boku, noein, may be zettai shounen or ghost hound (but i think that both of them are too slow paced and a little boring), Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (althought they have only two ovas is not adapted to anime), haibane renmei, or even kamisama dolls (although kamisama dolls is really nothing special and it is unfinished). I think that some of that series have the essence of shinsekai more or less, if you are searching for something more specific you have to write it in your message (with mental powers as night head genesis or something like that). |

| I think Noein, Ghost Hound, and Shiki are the most similar to SSY out of the recommended ones. I actually think the Kamisama Dolls similarities are only superficial and end with the village secrets etc. The two shows are very different aside from those superficial similiraties imo. |

| Kaiba has the same "omg wtf" feeling as Shinsekai Yori when the truths are revealed. Sidonia no Kishi has similar world building and sci-fi atmosphere. |
| It's been a good while since I watched it, so maybe this won't be a very good rec. But I remember Ghost Hound having a very good erie atmosphere. SSY was all about atmosphere, this anime too. But in terms of plot or characters, they're completely different. |

| What about Nagi no Asukara? You get to watch the character develop, well "some" if you watched the anime already. Isn't as good but I'm hoping to find an anime similar to SSY. |
