| Seeing how the 4th season just ended and seems to be rated 8.90 (not that scores give out the actual quality of a show, it does give an idea though), is it worth the watch? I've seen the first two episodes a while ago and I thought it was kinda... boring. Does it get better? Can I look forward to something awesome? |
| If you don't like slow paced shoujo with episodic plots. Don't watch it. If you like a heartwarming story about a lonely boy being surrounded by youkai only he can see, go for it. IMO it is an awesome watch, the only problem is that it can draaag big time, cause the pacing is amazingly slow. I know that won't help much, but I am tired. |

| I don't mind a show being slow paced, but does it get better? More interesting? EP1-2 were interesting, but I was mostly bored. I've sat through Aria : The Animation anyway. Slow pace is no big deal for me now. |
| In my opinion it gets better. There's some really emotional episodes in the series, which always is a huge plus for me. But my biggest tip is that do not try to marathon it. That is in my opinion impossible. |
| I usually marathon an anime if it's really good, lol. Well, I guess I'll try it again and see if it's as good as the hype make it out to be. |

But I will also point that you liked Hotaru no Mori e who has the same feeling than Natsume Yuujinchou, the same mangaka, the same chara design... so you should like Natsume also! But again, the best rated animes in your -complete- list are for most - to not say all- shounen/seinen with exceptions: Chihayafuru and Hotaru no Mori e and Usagi Drops. I think it can be good to "try" more of Natsume and even if the anime is, for most of the first episodes, episodic. If you pay attention to the characters, specially Natsume, you will definitely notice how much he changed during the seasons! It's really not "just" an episodic anime! Just don't expect Natsume to train himself to fight youkai, don't expect many girls (there are not a lot of girls but there are great!), don't expect panties fanservice (it's a shoujo!!)! But you can expect a great show ^__^ yes, I'm a big fan ^__^ |

| I'd watch a couple of episodes from the first season (just so you get to know the characters - I watched 7..) and then try out the second season, which absolutely got me hooked and then I even marathoned it ^^ Personally I thought the first season has a super slow start, which I didn't like much. If you still don't like the series while watching the second season, then you won't like the rest either. I love seeing Madara interact with Natsume and generally whatever Madara does/says - it's super funny (well, and cute, at times) =) |
| Well just like others said, if you want some heartwarming stories, then you should watch this, i'm just starting to watch the 3rd season of this. I also enjoyed the first two seasons, for me they're not boring to watch.. |
