Speaking of opinions (vaguely), I would like to hear everyone's reasons for saying that everyone should watch their list of anime. If you all think so highly of them, then you must have some opinions behind it.

Reading the lists people have made and upon further reflection, here are some additions I would make:

Some people have been saying Spirited Away, and I feel like I should have included that in my list (although I personally prefer Howl's Moving Castle). Miyazaki's name alone is enough to convince anyone it is a must-watch, but it also has some historical value as the first anime film to win the Best Animated Picture award at the oscars (I will add that this is mostly important to North American viewers, but the Oscars are still a big deal; if anything, people here in Nicaragua seem to respect it).

Rebuild of Evangelion also makes a strong case, but is still incomplete and it is a long ways off from being complete. I can tell that this series of movies is building up to something big. Maybe not a must-watch just yet, but the potential is there. (Side note: Could this movie be responsible for the influx of remakes that have been coming out?)

Mind Game - I can only really base this on the merits of the film alone. The film is a monumental achievement and a great example of an auteur driven work (sadly, there aren't enough of those). Even though it is bogged by some pacing issues and may be a little to off-center for some, I can guarantee that you have never seen anything like it.
