So I was just wondering how everyone started watching Anime?
For me it was when I was about 5 & I saw Pokemon, which I though was amazing.
The art style fascinated me. I was hooked for life. The first Anime I actually found myself, was Kanon.
It is still my favorite. I love the Anime Key produces
My older brother (2 years older than me) watched Pokemon, and influenced me to watch it. Then I started watching Sailor Moon & Cardcaptor Sakura, which were my favorites when I was a kid XD They always played it on the same tv channel so I got to watch it almost everyday ^^
Then when I found out there were other anime series, I watched Ultra Maniac on the computer :D which was technically my first anime serie ever. >:D
I basically got into it was watching Pokemon & Japanese characters/series like Hello Kitty,Jarajuku Girls, and Domo xD
Later I started watching other series like Sailor Moon,Tokyo Mew Mew,Cardcaptor Sakura,ect...Thinking that they were cartoons at the time(I was like 5yrs old). Then my older sister got me into watching Lucky Star & reading Galaxy Angel manga that got me into searching & watching various anime series like Haruhi Suzumiya,Sgt Frog,& Death note. Then pretty much over the next two years I became a Otaku along with my sisterxD
In my childhood i've watched only pokemons, yu-gi-oh, and other stuff like that. Then, in class 7-8 my friend told me about "Naruto" - i was like wtf is this shit this is anime. I had nothing to watch, and i started watching Naruto, and i've liked it very much since it was one of my first animes. Then i was watching only hentai(and watched a lot of 'em :3), and then started watching anime normally.
It must have been, (like everyone else~xD) Pokemon, Yugioh, Cardcaptors; some of my early favorite 'cartoons' at the time. While other girls were on and on about stickers and hair products, I was collecting Yugioh cards and making Pokemon sounds~ OTL
XDD
I think the first known anime I watched and was very connected to was Inuyasha then FMA and Naruto; then the whole thing just kicked off~ Thank goodness for Adult Swim, helping me start my addiction~xD
I don't remember exactly, but it was something like this:

I think I was six, though. x'D Just saw it on TV and took a liking to it. Then I heard about Digimon and others and watched them as well.
Once, there was an advertisement on TV about a manga magazine (something like hana to yume, only in a different language) and I immediately wanted it - mostly because of the cuuute mascot it had (and still has). Eventually, I found it in a shop and roughly flipped through it, but the many monochrome pages made me not take it in the end. XD (which I regret...) At that time, I was either six years old or even younger, so I wasn't used to that xDDD
I started when I was around two years old. I saw Kiki's Delivery Service. My peak of anime watching was late elementary, all of middle school and high school. Well I should say I still watch a lot now. LOL. My first series I watched as a kid was Pokemon and I still love it today! I find it cute, adorable, funny, and pretty cool at times. I must say I still even have my VHS of Kiki's Delivery Service and it still runs perfectly. I'm soon coming up to completing 400 anime series. I'm pretty excited. ^_^
Although the first ever animes I had watched were Totoro and Sailor Moon, they really weren't what started my interest. What started it was "Howl's moving Castle" and "Whispers of the Heart". Both made my heart smile. Every time I saw either of them I would run around the house and act embarrassed because they kissed or said "I love you" in the end. It was something else >.<. Anyway, the first tv series I had watched was "Peach Girl" and the first manga was "Watashi ni xx Shinasai!". I think you should get my point by now -____-.
I started when I 4 or 5 years old (I don't actually rebember). It was Sailor Moon series and then when I was 8 I started watching Pokemon.
10 years later I started really watched anime. I remember it was Kamikadze Kaito Jeanne. I really love it;)
There wasn't much anime when I was a kid. The 1980s were the golden age of American cartoons: He-Man, GI Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
It wasn't until I was in my 20s that I found anime on Cartoon Network's adult swim. Also found a bunch of anime at our library. Actually, the first anime I ever saw was as a teenager I saw a Ghost in the Shell movie that was subtitled. I don't remember particularly liking it that much.
I don't really remember when was my first anime, but i know that my first truthly passonate anime was Naruto. First i saw it on TV channel and than i watched it on ineternet. MY second truthly passonate anime were FMA and Shaman King. I didn't know that the things I was watching are called anime...
