Novel author Akamatsu Chugaku posted in his twitter that the realization of the second season of Hidan no Aria depended on the Blu-ray and DVD sales. He said the producers have been checking the sales closely but the current sales were far below the required amount. Director Miyamoto Yukihiro posted in his twitter that they have reached close to the second season of Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko. ref. the Blu-ray + DVD sales of the first volume Hidan no Aria: 6,356 copies (one episode, 4,200 yen) Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko: 6,628 copies (two episodes, 7,350 yen) Sources: Akamatsu's twitter, Miyamoto's twitter |

Not surprising, Hidan no Aria is simply a bad anime. And Denpa turned out to be mediocre after a good start. |

I'd rather see more Hidan no Aria than more Denpa Onna to be honest. At least Aria is somewhat entertaining. Anime fan ≠ Otaku. Educate yourselves. |

Note: The sales of the second volume usually drop a lot compared to the single-episode first volume. e.g. Yumekui Merry DVD vol.01 1,102 Blu-ray vol.01 2,353 2,914 3,744 (single episode volume) vol.02 1,658 (two episode volume) vol.03 1,776 Modified by dtshyk, 07-01-11, 10:24 PM |

OH THANK GOODNESS It should have never seen the day of light in the first place. Plato is my friend — Aristotle is my friend — but my greatest friend is truth |

Aria was the biggest disappointment of the Spring season by far. I'm glad the sales are poor for this show, maybe JC Staff will stop butchering light novels and try something new and possibly succeed at it. ![]() |

I prefer Denpa to get second season. Don't like Aria much. But still. Deciding about second season is a mystery. Mainly about 4K per volume is enough but siome shows got it with less sales while some ither still didn't get it with sales abot 6-10K per volume |

I wouldn't mind more seasons of them both tbh. What is the required amount? I'm a little confused, why are they selling one episode for dvd's/BD? Is that like a Japan thing or something? Do they seriously think it will sell more then two episodes pack in or three? Part of me thinks they set themselves for fail intentionally. |

Good, that means J.C. Staff can spend their money making actual good anime. I like Denpa Onna but can't really say that I want a second season. Of course, I'd watch it anyway. ![]() |

it's sad, since I enjoyed this show... and I really like the tsunderes-lolis roles made by Kugimiya... and since the people who reads the novel always says that it was incridible and really interesting... (at least all the chapters of the manga that I read was somewhat better than the anime adaptation) you know, it worries me a lot because JC staff pretend to make Shana III this year and after the bad adaptation of Merry and Aria and the bad opinions about Index II, they seems to not be prepared to make this third season! >< well...the way is to see how Kamisama no Memochou and Kaitou Tenshi Twin angels will work this season! >< |

Anime that are just good products are starting to sell more and more. Putting out mediocre shows will almost always give you the same in return. |

Well that's not cool. I watch both Hidan no Aria and Denpa Onna... but I'd much rather see more Hidan no Aria :| |
