MAY is Anime Nexus' official SHOUJO MONTH.


By definition said:
The term shōjo, shojo, or shoujo anime (少女漫画 shōjo manga?) refers to anime marketed to a female audience roughly between the ages of 10 and 18. The name romanizes the Japanese 少女 (shōjo), literally: "little female". Shōjo anime covers many subjects in a variety of narrative and graphic styles, from historical drama, to boys' love, to science fiction — often with a strong focus on human and romantic relationships and emotions. Strictly speaking, shōjo anime does not comprise a style or a genre per se, but rather indicates a target demographic. Examples include Ouran High School Host Club, Fruits Basket, Fushigi Yuugi, Sailor Moon, Vampire Knight, Romeo x Juliet, Princess Ai and Tokyo Mew Mew.



Here are the rules:


  • You can only nominate 4-5 shoujo anime.
  • Should you crave to nominate for more shoujo, wait for at least a post to nominate again.
  • You can 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. a nomination if you haven't nominated it yet.
  • We discourage debate over the nominations.
  • Images are optional but please use spoiler tags.
  • Admins reserve the right to remove non-related comments in this thread. In short, NO TROLL COMMENTS.
  • You can not nominate shoujo animes that have already been featured as an Anime of the previous months. Check here for the list of featured Anime of the Month.
  • Nominations will close on April 15th EST and the polls will open thereafter.
