I was having the same issue, and switched to Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode and it worked perfect. I noticed a lot of people having this problem in the bug reports thread and decided I'd share this with you :)

Jadd.

Hmm, thanks. I've only just installed it but already experienced the issue. Hadn't I seen this I would've probably dismissed it as being related to the latest lag problems MAL is having.

Right click on icon > click properties > click the compatibility tab

Also, I don't have this problem but I have a feeling that just running it as admin would do the same trick.

Until today, I hadn't had a problem with Mal Updater, all it gives me is check user/password and no luck. Also I got tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the software and so far nothing. I had tried what was suggested and no luck so far. Can anyone help me. Thanks.

This thread needs to be killed. I mean it. OPs. what are you doing? This one is completely unrelated to any issues that might happen now.

And yet it *is* happening now. Changing to XP Sp 3 compatibility mode and running as admin did nothing for me, but I'll keep trying the other modes. Who knows? Maybe one of the others might work till they can address the issues causing this error.

No the problem is that MAL changed their log-in button AGAIN. Now we have to wait for a patch that will fix this issue.

I'm not so sure it was just the button that was changed, i think the whole login process was changed.

Because that was a roundabout way to fix issue that was in MALU version 4 years ago, not a response to current mess MAL does with their login process, which automatically means MALU can't properly log in.
