| Yakumo's dad is a spirit, 100% confirmed now. Honestly, I can't remember Yakumo saying that the deceased spirits are "clusters of sentiment", but it certainly ain't a great way to say they can take physical form. In a sense, doesn't that make Yakumo's dad a talking hallucination or illusion... |

| A very sad episode. So Yakumo's father is a spirit but he ran towards Isshin with the knife so what happened. Can he really possess people? He is more special than the other spirits who have tried it after all. I'm surprised he didn't talk with Isshin at all and he kept staying in dark places. Only 2 episodes left. |

| Guess that diagnosis ended up being irrelevant after all, since Isshin was stabbed anyway. But if we're led to believe that white-haired guy is a ghost, then he shouldn't be able to wield a knife and inflict injuries on anyone else. Considering how Isshin's attacker was only directly shown from their own first-person perspective, perhaps white-haired guy possessed a monk on the temple grounds and had him wait in the main building. Isshin probably wanted to die at that point anyway, as he knocked Goto out beforehand. Poor Nao will be feeling the effects of this, but she's been pretty good at remaining strong so far. |
