| Ultra Maniac is surely a magical girl anime for the modern age. They integrated magic and technology for casual usage, and the show seems oddly flippant in using magic publically, despite the usual warnings of keeping muggles in ignorance. If anything, the show feels like a mid-90s sitcom, contextually dating itself with its conduct and unabashedly straightforward introduction to its world, characters, and character relationships. |
