Looks like the Vinland Saga Season 2 situation again. Both Netflix and Crunchyroll will be streaming it, except in this case CR's territory excludes Asia (but includes Middle East and CIS). Netflix's is global.

Edit: Turns out Muse is also licensing it in Asia.

This, in my opinion, is the proper attitude towards the Western audience.

it will release in fall 2024 so it'll be for AOTY of 2025 because for some reason Crunchyroll exclude fall anime from each year

It would have been great btw watching COTE S3 in Muse Asia.

The first had the choice of two dubs too. Still catches me off guard sometimes when I see clips on YouTube or something and it's the Netflix dub because I'm not used to the characters sounding that way. Does anyone know why they even do two versions in the first place?

idk it seems like a waste but i liked the nf dub more

@Eoin_Malone cuz of exclusivity things. Probably none of the streaming sites allow the other to stream the dubs.

Anyone else kind of triggered that they translate "Yokai" as "Ghosts"? Although i do know most of the people don't know what Yokai are, yet.. they are much more than ghosts afaik.

@Lylaaz Not personally, because theyre not using the word "yokai". In the trailer and promotional material, the word being used is actually "yuurei" (kanji: 幽霊), which is pretty equivalent to our concept of ghosts or spirits in English. The manga also tends to use this verbiage in the original Japanese too. In other cases I get what youre saying tho, since lazy translations like that are all too common, but fortunately that doesnt seem to be the case here!

@secondosaurus Oh, thanks for clarifying. I didn't know they use Yuurei in original manga. It's been a while and I read it in English a year ago. I guess I assumed too much (or maybe they had some Yokai too? they do have a wikipedia page). Perhaps one day I will try to check out the Japanese version or eventually we will hear it in anime if they ever use Yokai too. It would be nice if they used both eventually :)

@Lylaaz They do use yokai too, as I recall there's a fair amount of using both. If I remember correctly the manga uses yuurei a lot more prevalently especially in the beginning or when they are talking about the spiritual and supernatural in general. Then later encounters use the word yokai more often, commonly when talking about specific yokai or monsters.
