Can anyone give me the actual right watch order to the love live franchise?

So I haven’t seen love live but I only heard of it because of the Nico Nico nii memes. Anyone wanna give me the watch order? That will be useful

It’s not SUPER important which group start you start with, but here’s each chronologically which, is what I’d recommend, and their watch order :

u’s:
Love Live School Idol Project
Love Live School Idol Project Season 2
Love Live the School Idol Movie

Aqours:
Love Live Sunshine
Love Live Sunshine Season 2
Love Live Sunshine Movie Over the Rainbow
Optional: Genjitsu no Yohane Spin-Off (can be watched anytime after season 1)

Nijigasaki High School Idol Club:
Love Live Nijigasaki High Achool Idol Club
Love Live Nijigasaki Season 2
Love Live Nijigasaki OVA
Love Live Nijigasaki movie series (upcoming)
Optional: Nijiyon Animation (can be watched anytime after season 2)

Liella:
Love Live Superstar
Love Live Superstar Season 2
Love Live Superstar Season 3 (upcoming)

Edit: Nico Nico Nii is in u’s so if that’s your primary motivator you should start there!

School Idol Project:
Seasons 1 and 2 then Movie

Sunshine:
Seasons 1 and 2 then Movie

After those two, Nijigasaki and Superstar can be watched any time afterward in any order.

dude you're in the exact situation that I was when I met this series.

To watch in the order, nothing more than watch in the release order. To start, you've to watch the first and second season of Love Live School Idol Project (2013 - 2014) and after Love Live School Idol Movie.

Then you see Love Live Sunshine, the two seasons and the movie, Over the Rainbow.

In the end, Love Live Superstar, which has two seasons for now and a third coming.

also there is Love Live Nijigakuen, but it's a spin off adaptation of the mobile game School Idol Festival.

basically that is

Love Live → Love Sunshine → Love Live Superstar

Spin off:
Love Live Nijigakuen and Yohane Parhelion (no correlation between them, watch first what you want)

yeah, it's just a music video it isn't related to the main plot at all, best to watch it after firsy season when you know all the characters

Love Live School Idol Project seasons 1&2
Love Live School Idol Movie
Love Live Sunshine seasons 1&2
Love Live Sunshine School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow
Love Live Superstar seasons 1&2(3 is airing in 2024)

Spin-off Timeline
Love Live Nijigasaki High School Idol Club seasons 1&2 plus the ova
Nijiyon Animation
Yohane the Parhelion: Sunshine in the Mirror

This is literally why I started watching it a couple months ago. Nico Nico Niiiiiiii.

This one's first. I haven't seen the others, just the first two seasons (not the movie). But from what I've heard, each series (School Idol Project, Sunshine, the other one) is standalone, and doesn't really require knowledge of the former one.
