Is Atsushi's backstory different in bsd beast?

I readed the manga bungou stray dogs beast and I was very surprised with the Atsushi's backstory and I started wondering if in the anime Atsushi also kills the man that tortured him in the orphanage

it's in the movie dead apple, but anyway the dude got reincarnated and get killed again for the sec time after battling with Atsushi

In the anime the orphanage director goes to congratulate Atsushi on his achievements with the guild situation but is hit by a car and dies before he can see him. I’m pretty sure in the manga it says that Akutagawa was the one responsible for it or at least he had something to do with the hit being placed on the director but I could be wrong.
