| It's hilarious that Girochi had to clarify that he was not bribed or threatened. Well, that was a decently entertaining show throughout. Its individual parts appear to be questionable or cheesy, but the sum of its parts somehow strung together a show with gusto and vigour - making the show charming and capable of roping the viewer along with its energy. Sportsmanship is the obvious in-your-face theme here, but I spent a lot of time pondering about these robots and just how human they are - from their designs to their thought processes. Thinking about things like: can these robots harm humans (basically Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics), to what extent are they analogous to humans, how were so many of them manufactured in such a way that produced so many unique details between each robot? This is a children's show, so they went with the classic "good guys" winning, although at this point... are there any villains left? I appreciate the ending/this final arc - not some vague cop-out, plus, the mini subplot of dealing with the Fighter Brothers alongside the Dark Organization thing made it a lot more thought-provoking than leading the viewer to easily believe Silver Castle would have a bit of a struggle each time but eventually triumph over their opponents each game... oh. Well, at least the Fighter Brothers somewhat interrupted that formula by giving the viewer something else to think about. |
