For quite a long time,"Junkers Come Here: Memories of You" eluded me. It was so rare there wasn't even an Anime News Network profile for it and very little information to come by. Considering the movie to be one of the best Triangle Staff projects ever animated along with "Serial Experimental Lain", I had to watch this OAV. Thankfully, in May 2022, Orphan Fansubs ripped a pristine looking VHS and fansubbed it. You can watch it on Youtube, uploaded there by my good friend Perevodildo

Synopsis: Four sisters, the Arimura, share a common household. Haruka and Natsuno, the adults, pay the bills and take care of the household, while Akimi and Fuyuko, the minor ones, are under their charge as if they're their children. They live in good harmony together, but before meeting Junkers, the miracle Schnauzer, an untold void subsists in their lives. Indeed, after their mother's mysterious disappearance, their father met his untimely fate, getting them to their current situation. This generates a mix of repressed resentment, sadness and dread. What are their three wishes to Junkers going to be? Is their mother still alive? Are they going to find peace of mind?

Verdict: It's alright. Predating the movie by some months, the OAV is pretty much a blueprint project. Clocking at 30 minutes, the rushed pace is definitely an issue, something the movie took in good consideration as it chains the sequence of events more smoothly. "Junkers Come Here: Memories of You" has a relatively silly and cute art style, in contrast with the movie, going for a more verisimilar approach. The former's concern is to convey the endearing immaturity of the sisters, while the latter wants to better reflect the surface maturity of the heroine. Even if you think the movie is superior by all regards, the OAV still has its own original story. It is then definitely worth a watch to the fans.
