Putting nostalgia aside yes it is still a very good movie although some of the cg may not hold up as well

Yes, I really liked it. You should try it if you like Sci-Fi, virtual world and game settings with a nice blend of comedy and not-so-serious drama. Although it’s not for everyone, I still highly appreciated it.

Reviewing is not easy.

Don't know good or baf and frankly stopped caring, almost all "good" movies have put me to sleep. But i enjoyed every minute of this.

It's very good.
I went to watch it without many expectations and it ended up surprising me so much that it became one of my favorite animes.

I had this on my list for years but just got around to watching it today. I'm probably in a bit of a weird spot because I watched another anime movie, Belle, a few weeks before watching this one. There are some strong parallels between the two, but Belle has this one amazing scene that brought tears to my eyes... Summer Wars didn't have anything like that for me. Which isn't to say that it wasn't a fun movie - at one point I had to pause it to use the bathroom, was sure I was only about halfway in, and I actually had less than 30 minutes to the end, so it held my attention pretty well! I just had higher expectations going in than what I got back. I'd guess the movie will prove forgettable to me.

Sort of surprising, too - usually I rate things higher than consensus. Maybe I'm getting pickier as I get older.
