this kid is like 8. Why cant he just be a normal age

None of the work or achievements are remotely reasonable for the child. It makes no sense for the world and its really outta place. The first 6 episodes seem to be universe breaking while everyone he meets is dumbstuck praises ands really annoying noone is suspicious of a CHILD no kid acts like this. Just age him up to adulthood or late teens for this to make sense. Iseki loves to cram an old man into a new world but then spend the rest of the anime never looking back at the setup, least they can do is build this new world right.

I think that's precisely the important thing, that people are judging him for his acts and not age, trusting him even when he looks like a kid. There's a point in the series where he finds himself enjoying like a kid, and there you see that a part of him is returning to those early years of life. I don't think that this anime is that hard to understand, the character in his world never enjoyed living, neither childhood neither adulthood, so now he has the chance to live all of that again since the beginning, in fact the gods explain that to him. There's plenty of Isekai where the person starts being a kid with adult mind (Isekai cheat magician, kenja no mago, mushoku...) and you just get used to it, an Isekai is not a good place to look for coherence... And don't forget that the kid has been living alone so many years, so no one in that world, nor you, can pretend that kid to act like one, for them he had to survive alone and to "grow up" faster in order to survive.
