| Manga Updates doesn't state how many chapters it is, but every other source that does says it's 5. I found some uploads of the raws and again, only 5 chapters, and the final chapter has what seems to be back-of-the-book credits and pages. I know one volume is usually 8-12 chapters, but this seemed like it was cancelled early anyways. | Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (drawn by Makoto Mizuno) was released from the May 2004 issue of Shounen Ace (March 26, 2004) to the December 2004 issue of the same magazine (October 26, 2004). Although there is limited evidence of this, there were 8 chapters that were released in total. Chapter 1 in the May issue. Chapter 2 in the June issue. Chapter 3 in the July issue. Chapter 4 in the August issue. Chapter 5 in the September issue. Chapter 6 in the October issue. Chapter 7 in the November issue. And Chapter 8 in the December issue, the last chapter before this manga was cancelled. As for the reason why many sources may state that it is 5 chapters, it is simply because the only volume that was published had 5 chapters. The three remaining chapters were never published in a volume, which may be a contributing factor as to why the raws for those three chapters aren't available. Hope this helps! |
