This chapter is the first Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo story that Yoshio Sawai submitted to Shounen Jump, before it became a serialized manga and started again with a different beginning. But did you notice something familiar about this early version of Bobobo? Yeah, it's the same beginning as the first episode of the anime.

As it turns out, episode one of the anime is a loose adaptation of the very first Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo short story, from before the manga was even being considered for a weekly serialization! All this time I thought the anime had an original beginning, but it was actually drawing from an even earlier version of the story.
