So, I know that this isn't like your typical My Hero Academia or isekai- slimes or waifu shows, but I kinda find it troubling that there are always discussions about the decay of ingenuity in the anime industry, yet noone seems to care when a studio is left to rot away while the top 5 can't get enough lucrative jobs and everyone is okay with that.

So is the case with this movie and subsequent studio as well. I doubt that there are too much entries each seasn or even year to spread the attention evenly, but I guess that even MAL is slave to the industry and the fanbases of the most blatant cashcows. Anime directors are getting rarer each year and I doubt it will be too long until the community decides which elements and "plot twists" a show can have to satisfy their abysmal tastes unless we give even the smallest series a bit of a thorough look and decide for ourselves whether or not it actually is good.

So hopefully this movie will be good at the time it's airing and create some stirring up in the community.

I am looking forward to Hakubo but it's not much of a surprise of a low hype for this.
-It doesn't have any kind of fan base already
-MAL summary is vague?
-It's the debut anime for Twilight Studio
-The director is already busy with controversies this month.
After all these problems it will tough for the movie to compete with major cash cows having hyped up sequels but I really hope it to be more than an eye candy.

It seems like this movie is somewhat in the shambles, because the producer upon pre-watching it said that it looks awful and it will be delayed until June 21st and after that he will quit the industry for good.
Looks like there was just not that much interest in a movie about the anime drama after a real life tragedy in the country. That's at least my guess why it seems to fail...

If he actually gonna quit his job, then that's great to heard. But given that guy's attitude, I'm pretty sure he will come back in few years later as he also said the same thing back when one of his anime show failed hard and yet he come back 2 years later.

Tragedy? Yamakan kinda deserved to have this "tragedy" happened for every bad and stupid things he has done in the past. How could you expect someone to help you when you're a pretty shitty person to begin with?

no, it has nothing to do with all of that
its just
no one likes this director, and thus no one gives a crap about this movie

it has poor production as well overall
good riddance to him

Apparently, action > words. Who would've known?

SEE? This is why I said you can't trusts anything about this guy. No matter how many time he says he will quit his job, he will always come back and pretend he never said such thing.

The whole "retirement" thing from Fractale should already shown that he will never quit the industry despite the things he said.

So basically an anime industry equivalent of Ric Flair?

Yamakan is several time much worse than Ric Flair and he's almost comparable to Hayao Miyazaki's "retirement" lol.
