I've been wanting to get into this series for a long time now. However, every time I've tried I just can't get through a single episode. For one, Lala is the absolute most annoying anime character I've ever encountered. And all the cliches and goofy garbage that happens isn't at all entertaining. So, the point of this blog... I'd like to know a good way to continue this series without having to go through the first season, as Darkness looks a lot better than the crap I couldn't even force myself to watch. I know reading the manga is an option, but I'd prefer it to be more of a last resort. A guide of non-filler character introductory episodes might be acceptable. Or maybe just a rundown of all the events and characters introduced in season 1? Just, anything that allows me to avoid as much of season 1 as possible and continue off where it ends.

You'd probably be better off just reading a wiki summary based on most of the post. Also the last half or so of the first season is an anime original ending but they also skip several notable events in the adaptation as well as jumble the timeline. So if you're worried about major events (specifically one character introduction) you're probably going to have to read the manga anyway. Also the OVAs tend to be canon so be prepared to watch those since they have some significant events. But all that aside the series is largely episodic outside of character introductions so there aren't really any non-filler characters that come to mind based on the loose concept of the series (especially in later seasons).

Other option I guess get thicker skin it's not like it's a super serious series and you seem to be taking it a bit too seriously.

The only alternative I can think of off of the top of my head is to hop in the pouch of a kangaroo, ride it to the nearest grocery store, and declare to every older woman you see exit and/or enter that you wish to offer them a grand buffet of 24 hours nonstop fisting fabulous-ness.

go grey or go home tbh

To Love Ru is not always a series where you really need to pay attention to the plots or story and as such, you can just skip the episodes you deem not necessary.
But i guess from reading what you write, i think you only hate Lala so... Good luck with that. She is the main focus in the Season 1.
It's time to play the Game folks!

The manga has an open ending.

Don't even bother.

i felt the same! i think its took me 2 months to finish the 1st season. it was so boring. i thought this is something i will never finish. even tho if i start to watch an anime i finish it no matter what! somehow i managed to finish it and i started the 2nd season. it was better and then the DARKNESS! damn i think i finished all those in 2 days. the 1st season is deadly boring, but the darkness is amazing!

and a little "spoiler" if u skip the 1st season u lose nothing. if u watch 3 eps in 2nd season and then skip all the others u lose nothing... to love ru is something like a never ending story. they made those eps but nothing happened at all. and in the end too.. nothing will happen.

but let me tell u something. i see u dont dropped any animes yet. u should keep it this way. force urself to finish somehow the 1st season and then everything will be ok :p

Just read the doujins. You'll get better character development as well as the things you actually want.

Read the synopsis for each episode lol.

There is also one option, a secret one... But I'll tell you anyways because I have a relatively good mood rn. Don't really bother and do something else, even if it gets better, ask yourself a question do YOU think it is worth the risk? Don't ask others. The people who did not like it, will tell you to watch porn instead, and the ones who did, will tell you to watch it. So don't ask them, ask YOURSELF. If you feel it is worth it, then power-through, if you think it is not, then don't. Perhaps you will revisit it someday, perhaps not. It is just a cartoon and not a matter of life and the death in the end.

Skip to the 12 episode sequel Motto To Love-Ru. From what I can remember, most of season 1 felt like filler so just go to Wikipedia and read the short summaries for each ep.

The To Love-Ru entire franchise is built on "clichés and goofy garbage"; Darkness just ups the ecchiness factor even more. You may as well just watch something else instead. Though if you are going to skip the 1st season, I'd recommend going to the 6-episode 2009 OVA, as that comes before Motto and has some character introductions.
