Hmmm... I've never timed myself, but "too long" is my final answer

Usually it takes me an hour (give or take, depending on the manga) to finish a volume.

I usually read a chapter or two when I read a volume, but if I get addicted and manage to start and finish a volume, it would take an hour and a half.

It really depends.
For a normal sized volume & if I read slow, maybe a day. If I read at normal speed maybe an hour or two.

Probably about half an hour for a manga volume (if it's simple shoujo or shounen, if it's seinen, josei or a more complicated shoujo it might take longer). A light novel will take me at least a few hours to read. (That's in English. I read a lot slower in Japanese. It takes me about an hour to read one chapter of an easy shoujo.)

It really depends on the manga for me some I can blast through in like 20 minutes. Some have more text or need to be more carefully read might take an hour.

A light novel might take 5-10 hours depending on the content.

30 minutes. I'm a bit of a fast reader and no I don't skim through text and the 'lovely' pictures.

I usually only read a chapter or two at a time so it usually takes at least a week. The chapter themselves take somewhere between 3 and 20 minutes depending on how long they are and how fast my reading is at the time. MAL's standard of 72 minutes sounds fairly accurate for the actual time spent reading.

I do read per chapters in manga, so I can't tell exactly, I read 3-8minutes per chap.

and 2-6 hours in light novels.

Can't say because words per page/chapter and pages per chapter vary so greatly. E.g. sometimes I read manga wherein 1 chapter literally consists of around 150 pages (*coughs*Astro Boy*coughs*) with tons of dialogue as well. Then you read something like Blame or Gantz which you can just browse through very quickly..
Also, shoujo mangaka are a terrible offender of this.. they often don't seem to know how to express themselves properly so they need shit ton of words that are not really needed...
But I'm a fast reader.

Depends on if the volume has a lot of dialogue and if the plot is complicated.
For Shoujo, I typically finish one volume in 30 minutes
For shounen or psychological/slice of life, probably 1 hour and a half.

it really depends on how much text the manga has. 20 minutes to an hour.

Around a day since I'm pretty lazy. But I have finished a volume in around an hour before, maybe less.
nothing.

It all depends on the manga because some have much more text than others, as well as a difference in overall page length, but, I'd say anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes.

Depends of the author but, for a 300-350 page novel in Japanese, takes me between 8 and 10 hours most of the time right now, I suppose.

For manga, it heavily depends. 20 to 60 minutes, I would say.

I've learnt to do it quite quickly, to be able
to read while going by train/bus.

About 30-40 minutes for a manga volume. I'm just reading the one ln now, which took me like 2 and half hours probably.

20 min to 1hour and a few min for manga (Let's say, I am a Hero in 20 min and Bakuman in 1 hour and something)

Light novels I take uh... 4-5 hours? Not like I read much of those anyways

It varies for me. The better the art, the longer it'll usually take. If the artist takes the time with their art, then I'm going to repay it by appreciating it. I'm reading through Yu Yu Hakusho right now and I'm doing so at a fairly fast pace. I glance at the art and read the text. There really isn't much reason to sit there and analyze the art.

If things get more philosophical or deep, then I'll be reading it at a slower pace to take things in.

I'm also reading Jo Jo for the first time and that is being read at a pretty slow pace. The art is simply too good to breeze through. Plus, it's my first time experiencing the story so I don't want to miss anything.

half an hour? Depends on the manga's quality - the worse the manga the faster I want to finish it

Depends on the amount of text. Generally I don't rush, unless it's something I've already seen in anime format, and I am trying to catch up to where the anime left off. Also, it takes me about 3 times to read in Japanese for a wordy manga (but I do it anyway sometime for practice).

I can honestly say that I have never timed myself.

But judging by the other responses here, it seems that it takes me longer than most! I guess it all depends on how much I enjoy what I am reading. If it is so-so then I will probably read faster than usual. If it is something that I am really enjoying, I will take my time!

For manga it depends on the amount of text. But normally maybe 25 minutes per volume

For light novels it's more consistent since they tend to have about the same amount of text per volume. And there it's probably closer to 3 hours for standard ~50k word volumes (depending a bit on how addictive it is; I may or may not have to take breaks). I have seen super lengthy ones on rare occasions too though which can take almost double that

One volume takes from 30 minutes to 2 hours and depends on how the text is long and how many snack breaks I need :D
