Hello there,

I want to watch a series that's fun and isn't too boring, but is also serious in a non-monotone way. I want the series to have the following:

- Progression - I want it to start out like in school and watch the characters develop and grow. I want to see them graduate and to watch how there lives are after graduation.
- Character Development - A great character development is needed for a great story.

I don't care if:
- The show is underrated or mainstream
- If it's slightly unoriginal

Tags I hope to get (they dont have to be in the anime)
Tags: Drama, Romance, Slice of life, Comedy

Thanks for your help! You're the MVP if you find me the perfect series

P.S Something along the lines of Clannad; After story

I see "Suzumiya Haruhi no yuuutsu" on your "Plan to Watch" list (your list style is amazing btw)
Just give it a try in chronological order, skip the Endless8, then watch the rest episode and finish it with the movie..
The movie is one of the best thing I've ever seen.
The series had the tags that you hope to get (SoL, Comedy, Drama, Romance..)

Well im not sure if its going to hit everything your looking for because its by no means slice of life but it has fantastic character development and its a fun show that gets serious from time to time.

The show i called Assassination Classroom
the vague explanation of the show is the students are trying to kill there inhuman teacher who at the same time is teaching them and helping them be better people

it sounds ridiculous but its funny, has great character development, and there is some romance, though its not the focus

Itazura na Kiss -- Starts in high school and continues through college.

The "life after high school" parameter is really going to limit your options, though. Lets face it, the vast, vast majority of romcoms are either in highschool or college, rarely both.

For deep, impactful story try:
Gosick

For heaps of character development:
Maria-sama ga Miteru -- Shoujo-ai (platonic) with many touching mini-arcs and wry humor in-between. Four seasons of great character development for many characters not just the featured pair. Relationship chart:
Avatar: Anzu Kadotani from Girls und Panzer.

ofc its not sarcasm!! MoD and shelter heaven is not te best anime every with the most impact story ever! This also has the greatest most laughable plot twists. And it will bring you to tears laughing your ass off in the first 10 mins!! How great is that!!. Seriously, don't watch it.

on a serious note,
Itszura na kiss - goes from highschool to uni and marriage.
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso - Not school to uni, but very dramatic and emotional with comedy and romance.
Air - Dramatic with cute comedy. Watch if you can get over the extreme moeness.
Spice and Wolf - Mature romance with nice characters.

set by secret santa ; thank you! ily ♥️
