We don't know. It all depends on how well it sells and whatever other factors go into green-lighting a sequel. Unless there's someone on this site who actually works with the producers of this anime and can give you a definite answer, literally none of us can say "yes, there will be a season 2" or "no, there won't be a season 2."

I have a strong feeling there won't be a second season, and I really hope that's the case.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

The problem the idea is nice (in places) the execution is really poor. But since they've gotten that far with it and they even have some next season material... So on fence.

I really enjoyed Divine Gate a lot even if it wasn't really a good anime.

As long as it resolves all the plot points the ending left, I don't mind a second season. After all, seeing more pretentious wannabe garbage is always funny.

Wait, what makes anybody believe that Season 2 would clear the plotholes from season 1?
The crappy work they did here, it leads me to belive that season 2 would include even more plotholes as a continuation with even more confusion and whatnot almost without consodering the ones from season 1.

I stopped after 2 episodes but I got bored and finished it. (Spoilers kind of) Gotta say I know even less now then I did when I quit after 2 episodes. I'm surprised they even gave us names for characters in it. Probably only to mess with us more. Santa clause.... Don't worry kids it's in all Christmas jingles that Santa loves his bat with nails sticking out of it. Oz gave gods powers? Huhh....? Loki sure throw him in too, why not right.

Months have gone by, and no sign of season 2. Judging by the comments here, not many liked it. I've the whole season 1, granted it was a slow start, but as it progressed, the plot, idea, and the drams of the story played well. It brought characters we already know to a sci-fi environment. Still, Akane is a Natsu.
