Remembering an episode scene

Do you guys remember the scene where one of the character(can't remember who) ask another character why she joined a music club/competition and then, the other character reply and said because unlike sports where there is a scoring systems, music doesn't have it so because of that, music is interesting. Something like that.Which episode is it? It really happen and not just my imagination right? Or is it in other anime?

You're definitely not imagining it, they do mention it in an early ep but I couldnt find it again. They say something like music is hard to dedicate to and judge because there is less objectivity (like the score in soccer) and the "winners" are determined by vague judgements. Something like that :)
