Here we'll just list what historical periods interest us, for me:

Military History (especially WWII) and American History are favorite topics, though I will also stray into other areas depending on my mood. I also enjoy Counterfactual history.

My favorite is Ancient Rome. I love reading and learning anything dealing with Rome...architecture, engineering, warfare, government, etc. Right now I'm actually taking and class called The History of Ancient Rome. It's absolutely fantastic!!

I'm into history about certain topics rather than certain areas. Primarily, history of ideas. I'm aslo very interested in the history of political systems - if and why the fell apart, how life was in them, and so on. Focus is anarchism, since I have yet to find a single example where I'd say it definitely failed, and I wish to falsify it (being at least a bit Popperian and anarchist to the heart, it's my duty to put it to the test).

I don't think I really have a favorite period at this time... and I've hardly touched eastern, South American, and pre-colonial North American history yet (though I imagine much of that is archeology). However, I find myself fascinated by the conflict of political ideals... not necessarily in systems as Kaiserpingvin does, but the ideologies of people groups. I guess, then, you could say that the French Revolution, World War II, and the Cold War are interesting periods to me. I could probably also mention the English working class during the Industrial Revolution, and I'm starting become interested in colonial and early American history as well.

Europe during World War 2 (Mostly the Holocaust), and American Civil Right movements (early, mid 1900's). I use to be (Like back when I was 10) obsessed with Ancient Egyptian and Roman times.

Cold War History, anything to do with the communist movement

My favourite is Polish history, especially Polish Golden Age, the Jagiellon Era, and period, when Poland assumpted independent statehood in 1918 after 123 years of partitions by Austria-Hungary, Germany, and Russia.
I find World War I very interesting, it's even more interesting than World War II. Ancient times (Ancient Greece and Roma are really interesting!)

But oh well, I'm always wanting to know more. I want to know more about Japan history, China history and Ukraine history.

@renjikuchiki1

By the Polish Soviet Socialist Republic, do you mean this or this? Well, Poland was never a part of Soviet Union even if an attempt to declare Polish SSR was made.

The middle Byzantine period is my personal favourite... especialy the part covering the heyday of Byzantine power in the late 10th and early 11th century up to, and including, the fall of the Comnenian dynasty.

Well that's nice since I'm also interested in Cold war, Socialism, Communism and therefore ofc also Karl Marx & Engels, Lenin etc.
Furthermore I find WWII quite interesting since I'm German.
We might start a Socialism/Communism Thread some time and talk about the development ==> China, Cuba, USSR, GDR and stuff.

Everything from the beginning to the end of Middle-Ages, especially Asia.
What's unusual is that even though I'm from Poland, polish history and culture interests me the least. Not much of a patriot.
