Anime and manga differences

So im a big fan of fmab, and after a rewatch my friend recomended me this series cuz its the same creator (he specified that fmab was infinitely better). Since he reads manga and I watch anime, id like to know if there are any big differences between the 2. Also two questions:
-Is there any romance, even if its just subtely implied?
-Does the anime ending bring any closure?

Basically i know that this wont be fma, but does this series really deserve a 6.97?
