Main characters don't suffer from brutal death in front of our eyes, but rather suggest some atrocities hidden by the mysteries of the anime. All I can say is that this anime tells an extremely violent story, but since it is told from the perspective of the main characters, the atrocities are often hid by the world of Shinsekai yori. And together with the main characters, the viewers will gradually discover the truths about the world the characters live in and it's sometimes very disturbing. The brutality in Shinsekai yori is played on a very mature way and that what makes it such a great horror anime. |

| I saw this thread title and started laughing. Lack of plot armour, more like the whole plot hinges on certain characters dying. The survival rate for characters is like, pretty low. But no, it doesn't really become violence porn or anything like that. |
