Worth watching?

I have no idea what to get about this show. At all. I read Himari's character page(Without clicking the spoiler)and.. Well, what the fuck?
Is this a weird but good show or is it elitist-tier?
Like, this line:
"After being discharged from the hospital, she loses consciousness and dies at a trip to the aquarium. She is revived by a penguin hat bought at the aquarium's souvenir shop. When she wears the penguin hat, her appearance and personality changes to that of a dominatrix, donning a skintight costume and ordering the brothers to obtain the Penguindrum in order to extend her life."
..Why?

Btw, does this show have a dark plot twist in it or something?

Just finished it and I can says its worth it. It's darker than most shows but it still maintains some nice humor here and there to aliviate things, and it has no EPIC MAJOR twists.

It's a nice, but tragic, adventure. Remember to bring tissues, and use the Durarara!! theorem on this one: EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED :D.

I had absolutely no idea when I jumped into this anime and I must say that it's one of the most surprising anime I've seen in my life. Mawaru Penguindrum truly is a hidden gem.

There's no dark twist in it, but the story itself is really dark and sad. Nonetheless, it really worth it.

I would not recommend it. It was a drag to finish and needlessly esoteric. It has some good qualities, but there are much better anime out there than Penguindrum. Don't waste your time on this.

Yes. Although if you don't understand the symbolism you won't probably like it and it will be a waste of time.
