Aaaand it's funded. That's nice, really nice. The only thing they need now is more goals - the Michiru&Chiruchiru spin-off will be funded at the end of December for sure. I actually hope Grisaia raises more funds than Clannad :D

Pretty amazing. I think this will signal the golden age of visual novels in the world besides Japan.

I'm sure they will keep them in for the PC and digital releases. Probably not if they are going to port it on Vita or other console systems.

trust me, if Meikyuu and Rakuen get an all-ages release... you might as well not play it at all

The amount of content they'd have to cut out will be ludicrous lol

Seems like there's going to be a vanilla and 18+ version, well that's what the comments on the KS are suggesting.

Oh yeah i was never denying it's popularity, just never understood why. The only thing decent was the sex scenes and the common route.

At first I also couldn't understand people who put "this weird VN with plot set up which couldn't be more harem-ish" in the same row as G-Senjou no Maou or Steins;Gate. And then I played it and I kind of understood it. I'm not saying Grisaia is the best VN I've ever played but it's far better than "medicore"; as long as our definitions of "medicore" are more or less similiar of course. Besides why not pay money for this - the amount of good VNs which were published in the west are very few so I guess it's a good way of showing that there are people who would buy them here.

And I did it again ;/ I need to practice writing posts which can fit into 3 or 4 lines -.-

It's just different taste from yours man, that's why... if you think that the decent stuff were the only common route that featured comedy and sex jokes, and the sex scenes are better than that good Psychological Romance Drama the VN featured then I can't understand you.

thanks for making me llaugh. The comedy was the only good part about it, the Mc is just a shitty copy pasta of Azai from G-senjou and the only half decent route was Amanes.

can't people just agree to disagree every once in a while? :s

though I might have to agree on that the common route was honestly the best part in the end just because of how brilliantly the characters complement each other's jokes, some of the best comedy I've ever seen really ^^

Agreed, It's not that the routes were terrible. but if you have a girl who is a 10 standing in a crowd of 6-7s, they will end up looking like 4-5s

It seems visual novels are finally taking off in the west. Speaking of which, Littlewitch Romanesque is going on Greenlight. The English release is available for download on the 22nd, you should all check it out.

The only good VN to get localized recently is Planetarian (the best VN from Key), and that didn't get a lot of attention.
I'll support a western-localized VN only once an actual good one comes along, like Baldr Sky or Muv Luv.

It's a shame what becomes "popular" these days.

If you haven't included MuvLuv in your list I would refrain from mentioning Steins;Gate, Higurashi, or Dangaonronpa for Vita (both the first part and the sequel) because they would probably be to "popular" or "mainstream" for you. The VNs I mentioned above were released in the west and they were pretty OK (imho Stein's;Gate was the best one of them), so you can't say the only good VN localized recently was Planetarian.

On a side note Planetarian is a pretty specifc type of VN - no player's choices coupled with Key's specialty - sad, melancholic and calm atmoshpere simply didn't have to fit eveyone's taste even if the story itself was an interesting one.
