looking for an action manga or anime containing alot of tragedy (deaths, mental breakdowns, loneliness, mc just having it shitty throughout the series etc etc) would prefer it to have more realistic artwork (actually detailed faces and backgrounds and so on) or fluid animation aswell as some sort of romance (even subtle or hinted, or atleast some female involvement)

some examples:
Tokyo Ghoul
Berserk
Terra formars

Don't mind what others say, you weren't born to live up to their expectations.

akame ga kill (since they are all assasins and prepared to die, this manga is pretty dark and gory and has aspects like slavery, torture in it)
My favorite quotes from animes:

Those who seek miracles will never experience one. The hand of salvation only extends to people
who try to make miracles happen. - Ef a tale of melodies.
I destroy worlds. I create worlds. - Code geass
We are humans. - Shinsekai yori
100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10km run EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! - One punch man

I'd suggest the anime adaptation for When They Cry. I've read the manga more or less and the content is a little bit different, but the idea it's the same, so if you're accepting only manga recommendations I'd still recommend it.

Tokyo Ghoul is the most unfaithful and rushed adaptation I've ever seen. I don't see how anyone can consider giving it a 10 with the godawful pacing.

He's talking about the manga not the adaption. You should read the title carefully next time.

Maybe try Madoka Magica? Don't let the cover fool you. Seriously don't, it is indeed a very serious anime.

What about Code Geass?
It wasn't me who was wrong, it was the world!
