Ive see that this series is popular but I've never watched any magical girl series. Are there battles with magic? Or is it just like romance type of stuff and spells or magic used in a cute way? Since its such a short series ive avoided googling it to avoid spoilers.

Yep lol, i had a look at his work, only thing i recognise is fate zero which i didnt get into to much ive seen 16 eps i think and dropped it. I also saw aldonoah zero and didnt like that at all. Sorry bout that, I guess what the dude makes isnt really my thing. I'll check out Madonna though, see if its any good.

Hmm might not get it since i havent seen much of his stuff. I might end up finishing fate zero and giving psycho pass a go though.

It is as if Carl Jung smoked some bad weed and dreamt up a Faustian nightmare while watching Sailor Moon, stoned out of his mind.

Surreal psychological inversion of the magical girl genre, yes there is magic and plenty of battles, but the pacing is modest and contemplative.
Highly suitable for any sex or gender.

I like some of his stuffs and don't like some. I don't like Fate Zero either; drop it at ep5. I gave Psycho Pass a chance last week and totally enjoyed it.

This anime is not a typical magical girls show. To me, it's interesting and thought-provocative.
