| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- It's always sad when you see 'final chapter' on a series that is nowhere near its logical conclusion. Maybe Kuroha ran out of ideas for it again. Or perhaps he just got bored of it. Or just wanted to focus on Kitakubu from here onwards. Maybe the whole revival was just an attempt to get rid of the series. Or perhaps Square Enix just didn't want to have two magical girl series running in Gangan Online at the same time (although Shinjitsu no Mahou Shoujo doesnt exactly look like a magical girl series). Whatever the reason, though, it's a shame, and I'll miss this series. The last chapter is a bit of a letdown as well. Perhaps the ending of the series was already written, and they decided to not let it go to waste. Or perhaps it wasn't written, and this was just hastily put together to put some sort of conclusion on it. Whatever the reason, we have a sudden skip forwards in time to the characters' graduation ceremony. And the characters have lost the ability to do magic. In fitting with the style of the entire series, the purpose of the whole thing has failed but noone cares - except nekozarashii, who is stuck in the present forever. The girls reminisce for a while on things we never get to see, vow to stay friends forever, and throw away their half-filled, and now useless, wands. |
