Also if you can link this in your sources section of your answers on C&A from now, regardless of its relevance to the question and/or put it on your profiles. :D If anyone has a problem, suggestion, feedback or needs clarification on anything feel free to ask! ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________ Here are a few simple guidelines for making C&A (the Comics & Animation section of Yahoo! Answers) into a better place. Chances are, most of us do this already, but at any rate, the general guidelines will be re-listed here to make it more clear. 1. Pick a Best Answer for your Questions, Surveys, Polls, etc. - By not picking B.A., it's far too easy for cheaters to cheat. Even for those who simply don't deserve B.A., leaving a question to voting makes it too easy for them to receive one by voting themselves in. 2. Report cheaters. - Simple as that. When you report, just write the reason(s) "vote cheater" or "abusing Y!A point system", or something along those lines, so Y!A can pinpoint exactly why you are reporting them. 3. Report trolls if you suspect one. - NEVER answer or respond to their questions with any kind of answer (rude, sarcastic, indifferent, etc.) whatsoever. Anyone who makes ignorant/controversial Q&A in an attempt to cause attention should NOT be responded to. - You can either ignore the question or simply report it and leave. You should know that the more answers it receives, the harder it will be for the question to be reported. 4. Ignore questions that have been misplaced in the C&A section. - You can answer them if you know the answer but don't respond if you are just going to say "wrong section", or if you are going to respond with a rude/inaproppriate comment. That includes "hated" questions such as Twilight, Jonas Brothers and so on. - Please take into consideration that Y!A tends to misplace questions. If you answer or give more response to the misplaced question, Y!A will take it as a sign that they are choosing the right category for that particular type of question. Therefore, this type of question will be misplaced in C&A over and over again. 5. Don't be intentionally rude to any of the users on Y!A. - Yes, we all have our new regs // old regs bias. However, C&A could be a much nicer place if we didn't focus on who's new and who's old but instead simply on who we get along with and who we don't. [[Feel free to make suggestions for things to add]] ____________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Types of Cheaters and Trolls. Stage 1. Cheaters:: 1. 2 pointers. People that just answer questions badly but don't vote themselves B.A. 2. People that copy other peoples answers. 3. People who thumb down the B.A to make it look less respectable. Stage 2. Cheaters:: 1. People who give good/decent answers but still vote on multiple acounts. 2. People who choose B.A badly (I wasn't sure whether to include this, but I mean the ones that choose their contacts or friends or just the argument they agree with, it's kind of cheating other people) - but we can skip this one maybe or discuss it. 3. People who answer unanswered questions badly but only choice for B.A. Stage 3. Cheaters:: 1. People who have multiple accounts to vote themselves B.A 2. People who report other peoples answers without justification, so they lose the threat. 3. People who make accounts to ask questions, then use their main account to answer it and get chosen as B.A. Stage 4. Cheaters:: 1. | Hmmm I have a few people to add that copied my answers. I made it a while ago so I think the majority is inactive. And I think they're all in the green category, but I honestly don't have the energy to research all these people. So this post probably won't be very helpful, but at least it makes me feel a bit more closure with these people. xD A few things to note: -- Some of these questions are quite old. Look in the url for the "(year)(month)(day)" ex. http...answers.yahoo...qid=20070829... -- You can do a search to find out if an answer of yours is being copied by doing the following (this is also helpful if you want to do a search for something in a certain site, ex. if someone says they forgot the name of a manga they read in mangafox, you could type in a few key words and go through the results): Method A www.google.com/#q=put part of your answer here site:answers.yahoo.com Ex. part of my answer = "You won't find it anywhere right now because episode 13 and up of the English dub isn't out yet." = this search, but note that I had to go to the last page and click on the "repeat the search with the omitted results included" link for both to actually show up. Method B 1.) Go to google 2.) Put the following in the search box [replace this with part of the answer here, without brackets] site:answers.yahoo.com 3.) If this shows up: In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 12 already displayed.
