P.S. sorry for my bad english I took a look at your list and i recommend you Durarara!! I think you might like it. As for the anime from 1941-1960 I used Koneko no Rakugaki, it's only an episode and you can find it easily on youtube. For the 1961-1980 I'd say the first Gundam if you're into mechas, otherwise Jetter Mars or Mirai Shounen Conan because they're among the shortest (less than 30 ep.) I say you should go with Ping Pong the animation |

Yeha I get that and I understand recency bias and am guilty of that myself on occasion - depending on the ending this might be my favorite show - but Bakemonogatari is baseline ecchi harem with touch of edgy shounen for the kids. It's not a classic. Probably not even a classic within it's genre. But I guess that's subjective so i digress. |

@AudioTsunami @zombie_pegasus Bakemonogatari is series that people consider worth watching for its eccentric art and storytelling. It's definitely one of those shows everybody should try watching, but of course it's not something everybody will enjoy. It's avant-garde. If you see only "baseline ecchi harem with touch of edgy shounen for the kids", I think you are looking at it with wrong expectations or something. When you want to see something 'else', you watch this thing. Or Madoka, which is another, newer, avant-garde by Shaft. I don't agree with opinion that 'classic' series should be considered only those that are decades old. Anime is still airing, every year, every season, naturally new series worth checking out pop out. I personally wouldn't call Angel Beats, No Game No Life or One Punch Man classic, even when they have their quality, but I would recommend Bakemonogatari, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica or Shinsekai Yori as classic to anybody, and they are not very old series, but they are special in some way. I guess I simply like anime with a darker tone? I'm sure there are plenty of people who would agree with you and plenty of people who would agree with me. Classic series, quality shows, average shows...It's always just a matter of opinion anyway. |

(you liked Madoka, so maybe some real magical anime would be nice) Taishou Yakyuu Musume. (very cute and there is some romance. It's what I would call "moe sports") There are plenty of shitty shorts and even specials of popular anime that fit this challenge. These are some of the only good anime I've seen that fit this description. Mahou Shoujo Sonicoβ Magica has less than 10k completed members, but it wasn't that great. It's also only a minute long. |

You've seen two of "Kono Danshi..." stories and enjoyed them, so you can go with Kono Danshi, Sekika ni Nayandemasu., which is one episode, or Kono Danshi, Mahou ga Oshigoto Desu., which is 4 episodes long. I especially liked the one with crystalization, it was very cute. If you would prefer something else, I'm going to watch Zettai Shounen, which seems interesting, but I can't really tell since I didn't start it yet. |

The Lupin reboot Is a good place to enter that classic franchise and has only 500 completed members. |

In my challenge I set a personal restriction as "have an average time spent on the regular challenges of over 4.8 hours" which means that I'll be watching at least 10 days worth of anime over the challenges. Since I am using some shorts this also means that my time will be concentrated into certain anime. I'm watching four 4-cour anime for the challenge, the shortest of which is what I'm using for the three cour challenge (Smile Precure - 48 episodes). I'm also watching a few three cour anime and many two cour anime. |

"What means one-/two-/three-cours (or more) in length?" -- Normally a "cour" is the three-months period often used to divide the seasons. The length for the anime tends to be: 1-cours : 11 - 13 episodes (regularly over the course of a season) 2-cours : 23 - 26 episodes 3-cours or more : more than 34 episodes |

Right, "tends to be". Something that aired over the course of 3-cours tends to be longer than 34 episodes. But not HAS to be. @zombie_pegasus used to be quoted in the FAQ explaining what exactly 3-cours is with examples. The challenge is an anime that airs over 3-cours. So as long as it qualifies, it can be used. |

Although Katanagatari is a four cour anime, it only has 12 episodes so it wouldn't count for the challenge. Romeo no Aoi Sora is a bit iffy because it is exactly 33 episodes and it took a full year to air. It is a four cour anime and it is just barely under Shey's episode requirement.Right, "tends to be". Correct and the reason for doing this is because it is very confusing to use the exact definition of a cour. It's much easier to just define an episode range. |

Of course, that builds up the difficulty of the challenge; the way I see it is this: there are people that almost exclusively use seasonal Anime (12 episodes) and that is absolutely fine, but there are also some folks that try to add an extra difficulty to spice things up. |

Reason I'm doing it is because I dont like watching a season of a show I've already put in for a challenge, kinda defeats the purpose of watching new anime you normally wouldnt. I was planning to do that too, but since I put LOGH, Lupin, City Hunter and Uchuu Senkan Yamato, I think is better wait and see if I can complete at least the animes in my form before putting restrictions. Right now I still have to watch 1251 episodes :v |
