This is my last reply: So you consider that as a troll attempt ? Its just that its common for haters and Fanboys to be fighting at this type of topic. Not to say, I created an exactly same topic like this few months ago. And everywhere i went, when this type of topic was mentioned, it leads to an all out war between fanboys and haters . Got it ? That's my personal opinion on what will happen later on or happened . |

Enjoyment. Productions values are so high, it's hard not to enjoy action scenes when they're so well animated, and with supercell doing the music, nothing could go wrong on that part. What the show really lacked was a proper story. It kept jumping from one thing to another and at the end tried to tie up all the stories together, and that just made one big mess. That and characters not actually behaving like actual people, lol. Things like Shu becoming a badadd then a wimp then a badass, it felt off. It's as if the plot drove the characters, not the opposite. Also, the biggest flaw was the "void" power. I feel like the team behind GC hadn't fully thought it out and kept adding things to it as the story progressed, without foreshadowing. |

I wasn't even trying to troll , and if you think i was, look who's the fool. I'm not gonna start a flame war here, I'm not like you derp. Your anger , what can you really do man ? And if I don't shut up ? Amuse me please , i was expecting more from you and the amount of hate i got from your statement is disappointing low . No worries, I'm not even bothered to start an online personal attack . Note:Not gonna reply, tired of derps. lolanger. Telling someone to shut up doesn't equal anger, like lolwat. That doesn't make any sense at all. I'm not trying to start a flame war with you, I'm just telling you if you're not going to say anything REVELANT to the thread, then it'd be best if you just didn't say anything Before calling someone a derp and telling them they're angry, I suggest you reflect on the post I just quoted. I liked this show as much as giving it 9/10 , it's definitely worth your time, to me personally it feels like hybrid of Code Geass and Eureka 7 with something added/changed on top. Just for info my rating for CG is 8/10 (i tend to rate all seasons in this rating), Eureka7 is 9/10. I think people on internet are very critical these days, competing at who's gonna find more wrongies and they forget to mention the good parts. :) |

IMO, GC it's not the worst show, far from it. However, it's not a good show either. Again, this is all my opinion, and we may share very different taste in the things we like. Looking at your rating history though, I think you'll enjoy this quite a bit. |

oh man the haters of this show are some of the most annoying people out there. It's almost hard to believe that they take out all this time of their lives to peruse the guilty crown forums, a show that they hate, and look for the best oportunities to bash it writing the exact same things over and over again. I thought it was a pretty good show, it has it's flaws but if your not blinded by hate theyre easy to look past, and it ends up being pretty enjoyable. Also I'd say it's less like code geass, and more of a combination of eureka and evangelion. |

And @WyattEarp I kind of agree with you. Some people just say Guilty Crown is bad because some scenes don't make sense. For example, the scene I discussed before in the first episode where the first endlave misses targeted missiles on Inori. Can't we all just assume that Tsugumi hacked into the system and screwed the missiles up? Why is the anime completely terrible because of small instances like that? |

Stormtroopers couldn't hit the side of a barn in Star Wars either, but it's hardly a problem if you accept that it's a work of fiction. |

Guilty Crown is a bad show. Its plot is laughable and the characters are down right retarded. The music and animation are top notch though. Like I said before, music/animation are not enough to save a show/movie. Not the worst thing ever but it is still pretty damn bad. |

I can´t remember well, but weren´t the pilots inside of the Endlave, right? If it was like that, then that neurological system is not a very good idea, because by attacking a certain place they are easily knocked out and unable to keep fighting. @kurselax: We definitely got out of hand with this thread when you just wanted to know if Guilty Crown is worth your time, and I humbly apologise for that. Unfortunately, as you might have been able to tell by now, we cannot assure you if it´s a must watch or not. Personally, I would recommend several other shows that are better, yet, as I have said before, Guilty Crown can be some goddamn fun experience as there were plenty of people who loved it. No one can force you to watch it, yet the only way to know if you like it or not is getting into it by yourself: if you find it enjoyable, go ahead and don´t mind the others. If not, feel free to drop it and watch something else instead. |

The slightest thought that will pass from your mind is enough to make you see plot holes and stupid things happening. It is by far not a mature or well written show. It is just dumb fun and guilty pleasure (exactly what the name implies) for viewers with really low expectations. And sure, many are bound to love it, in the same way so many loved Twilight. Does that make it a good show? Hell no. Thank you for your understanding and in case you actually liked the show for any other reason then I pity you. |

It's not really a mistake though. There is no 100% contradiction. Most of the events that seem paradoxical have a reasonable explanation but just because the show didn't completely explain them doesn't mean that it's necessarily a "mistake". |

The characters are done well but my only complaint is the lack of development in anyone's abilities/powers except Shu's. My only problem with the storyline is that the last episode had too much in it. Almost half the characters died in just the last episode. Could've been better if the ending scenes were diluted to 3 episodes. |

This series had potential. It started out great. It has great OST, character design, fighting scenes were meh. But then Shu introduced himself as the common pathetic, unable-to-do-anything-by-himself protagonist. I have no idea how anyone could put up with someone like him. Just watched episode 1, and he had already said the most pathetic lines which made me drop this series. "My mind works in a different way as compared to other people." -5 points "It's just that I don't know what to say to other people." -7 points "But.. can we really accept this? Isn't there something more that I can do?" - 20 points "That's how pathetic I am" -20 points *Memory flashback, followed by a stupid expression on his face* -10 points *Unable to protect Inori, clenches his fist* -20 points *crouches in fear, followed by the same stupid expression* -10 points What I expect from Episode 2-22 "I don't have the power to do this by myself" -Rephrased in 20+ different ways. *Cries and gets slapped* "Please give me the power to protect those close to me!" "Everyone's depending on me. I have to do this!" Dropped this series at episode 1. |

Everything lies in the execution and how they manage to make the character sympatethic enough as we wait for his development, of course!! In Shu´s case, definitely wasn´t the brightest characterization, but the reason I can´t easily call him the worst protagonist of 2011 only puts in evidence that I can come up with at least a couple of examples that are equally bad (or even worse) than him. As a curious thing, he eventually becomes one of the few decent characters, specially near the end of the series... |

My opinion is that it is an average series, not very good but also not the trainwreck everyone made it out to be. The problem was that the expectations were way too high. The director from Death Note, the script writer from Code Geass, well-known artists producing the music and design, with production values through the roof AND airing on Noitamina over two seasons! It seemed like God's gift to anime fans! Except that it wasn't quite that, heh. |

Holy moly so much hate to this anime. Honestly i enjoyed guilty crown alot. Mainly because i like anything that sunrise puts out but also the story itself was pretty good. I did enjoy the main character alot and the romance he had with Inori. I am a huge sucker for romance animes. The action was good too and the idea that he could use people's "Trueselfs" to fight. The art was amazing too and the music did help alot as well. So for the people who said the anime was shit, stop hatin, its not good for your health. Side rant: Read in a earlier post someone saying Meloncholy of haruhi suzumiya was shit, he deserves a punch in the face. |

I barely had expectations for this show, but it’s just not right to say that it’s all the hype that’s at fault here. Because god forbid that it’s so wrong to ask for something to actually turn out good/decent right? Guilty Crown has interesting and sometimes even great ideas. It’s just how it’s laid out, paced, and written that tends to be jarring at times that it often gives people that unintended “WTF” reaction. I don’t care if it’s “unoriginal” or "cliched", as long as it’s written well then maybe I’d actually give it some praise. I don't hate GC. I don't think it's terrible nor do I truly dislike it. I simply think that it has a fairly mediocre story despite the great animation and soudntrack. No more, no less. |

This show is truly a waste of time. (Please read my post to it's entirely, and I will actually explain WHY this is my opinion; not just "THIS SUCKS") The thing is, the reason there is SUCH a negative backlash is that it LOOKS like it would be amazing.... phenomenal soundtrack, gorgeous visuals, and excellent voice acting... so you would think with ALL of that you'd get something quality. NO. no. no. The storytelling is so god-awful that it negates all of those things. Characters pop in and out without reason, side story-lines begin and are never explained (or just fizzle out), the MAIN characters have such convoluted motives that they cease to make sense at all, and you eventually don't give a DAMN about them anyways. How can you enjoy a show where you have invested 22eps, watching characters that have SUCH potential, become completely dull and lifeless. To the original poster; it's your call. Yes there are people who join the bandwagon of hate, but the origin of the hate is justified. Someone who actually says this was a quality show that was "AWESOME!" is either: 1)trying to stand out by being the less vocalized minority, 2)they have a low scale when it comes to quality, 3)they are probably 12yrs old/easily entertained, or they haven't seen enough GOOD shows and can't tell the difference. tl;dr, pass this up... there are MUCH better shows to fill your time with. |

If you enjoy watching beautiful animation and art style go watch it. The OST is also well done, other than that don't watch it unless you have time. One of the main reason there's so many haters is that GC has set the bar too high for itself to live up to its own hype. The first couple episodes are breathtaking with refreshing and beautiful animation, and a distinct art style and direction with a very interesting plot. The anime then completely went downhill following with disappointments among fans (read: haters) once the plot is revealed and how 1 dimensional the character is. Spoilers ahead Shu is your typical guy who can't make up his mind and thinks that he's on a emotion roller coaster when he's not, also when he's on the verge of dying, he suddenly made up his mind and is stronger than ever. Gai is your typical leader; good looking, smart, strong. Whilst the character growth of Gai itself is good on paper (starts out good, then turn bad for a greater cause), it's because it has been done a lot of times (feels cliche, overused and old) and 22 episodes is NOT sufficient to do this (Code Geass has 50 episodes which tries to convince you that Lelouch is a bad guy. Naruto, despite the haters, Itachi is one of the most developed character in any anime and again, it requires time to develop these kind of character growth). Then you have your typical Shu's "friends" that hate/love Shu because of his new power and hence pointless dramas are created. I'm not gonna comment on Inori because the only reason she existed in the series itself is for Shu. The only well developed character in this series Haruka Ouma. Overall I give the anime 7/10 because of the animation and OST itself and how well done the first couple episodes was. |
