Delete function would be nice.

I sometime add a lot of anime/manga to my plan to watch/read list and then I change my mind so, deleting would really come in handy.

@Meri not to worry, removing from your lists is also in the pipeline.

Also, the new UI is out in the beta, be sure to check it out and tell me what you think. I should point out that my forecast for when 1.2 would be ready were a bit skewed, it's taking a fair bit longer than I had anticipated. I'll try to put out more betas as features are ready though. Thanks for the kind words guys. Just a word on crash reports, if you guys could include what you were doing to cause the crash in the message that would be great, the logs can only go so far, and blank messages and ones that just say "crash" aren't very helpful.

On a happier note, I know some people have been clamoring for the ability to share. I'm happy to say you can do that now! Going to do some bug fixes tonight and then roll out a beta with sharing :)

Lastly, @Rickwaa, don't want to think about it. Not counting pre-rewrite, the majority of August and off and on up to now. But hey, the other apps suck and someone had to change that, so I stepped up :)

But now I have a problem. I can't login to my MAL account using this app. I tried stable and beta versions on my Nexus 7. I also tried beta version on my Samsung galaxy ace. I entered correct login+pass, but...

Hi Toco, looks like you petty much just got on board at the wrong time. The MAL API that this app and quite a few other apps depend on is down at the moment. Check back in a day or two when hopefully this should be sorted out.

Update: API is back, everything should be working again!

Just an FYI from the other main developer on this project: I'm working on merging Search/Add support. However, it's a bit slow going as I don't have all that many long uninterrupted periods to concentrate on translating the code to the newer ABS-ified and quite changed main code. This means the feature will likely not be in the next stable release. Sorry. It will be done though, and done right.

Please keep up with the feedback as we want this application to be just something useful for the majority of Android-toting MAL users.

Hi everyone! Looks like the API is dead, just in time to ruin your Christmas anime. Ergo, the app will crash upon trying to sync and other net functions won't work until it's back online.

On a better note, new beta going out today! This one is a little less finished than I would have liked, but it's Christmas and I wanted to leave a present for everyone. Look for it in your Play Store stocking later today.

In lovely news, the Unofficial API is currently down. The application will crash if you try to do anything that uses the API (basically everything).

In other news, building a "queue" system and better handling outages is in the plans for future updates.

We've been hard at work on 1.2, getting pretty darn close. To celebrate, we just pushed 1.2 Beta 5, which includes a slew of new* features! On the menu is a status card and (working) rating card, so now every personal value is finally changeable through the app.

Oh, and a whole bunch of other things. Check the change log on Google Play! Enjoy~

Edit: @ffpoke, depends how much money Amazon wants from me to sign up with them. I'll check into it.

*New is subjective, and arguably should have been done a lot sooner. Sho ga nai na.

Hi everyone, amazing news. After a round of bug fixes and extensive testing, we've deemed 1.2 to finally be ready for prime time. As such, 1.2 is now out of beta and available on Google Play! For those that haven't kept up with the betas, there's been a whole bucket load of changes and additions, way too many to list here.

Obviously now that that's done, we'll be going back to work on new features. The headline feature for 1.3 hopefully be search+add, we're aiming for that anyways. Of course, that won't be the only thing. Can't say what else will be in, but we're hoping it won't take nearly as long to finish as 1.2 did. We really spent way too long on it. :)

Interesting app. You should partner up with the iMal App Maker and try port this over to iOs. I dont like androids and will never own 1 so I wont ever get to try this unless its on a iOs derive.

There's just the little problem of I don't own a Mac, and as such cannot develop for iOS. Probably never will, my custom PC is simply too good. Also, there's also a difference in core vision or something. Quite unfortunate, but c'est la vie. You really should give Android a chance though, and I don't mean some mutilated version like on the Galaxy S3 (my apologies to S3 owners), I mean a stock, Google Experience like the amazing Nexus 4. You might like what you find.

I'm like a week late posting here, but just wanted to let everyone know that Atarashii! 1.2.1 is out on the stable channel. Mostly just the fixes that were in the beta, but I did manage to sneak a few changes in to the detail view. Namely the picture now scrolls properly with the rest of the cards, rather than being fixed.

Necromancy! Its definitely been a while since our last update, but its finally here! 1.3 is now available (as a beta) on Google Play!

So, what's new? Oh, only just Search and Add, directly from the app.

Oh, and miscellaneous fixes. Stay tuned for more, we do still have some tweaks and fixes to make before releasing to the stable channel. We'll keep you posted :)

Today I have encountered a problem with the application. The beta version has forced closed since you released it and the main application was doing fine until today where it forced closed me when I try to update and sync. I uninstalled and reinstalled the main atarashii application but it says there is an error when I sign into the application with my mal account.
I am using a Samsung galaxy S2 and I have sent error report BTW.

I hope you can fix this soon since I am going to miss looking through my list on my phone and I like your application the best out of the ones I tried^_^

Update: It started working like usual the next day. The beta still crashes when I try to sync though.

Hi again! Through the power of voodoo magic, I'm reviving the thread yet again to announce that Atarashii! 1.3 is now in the stable channel! Since the first beta over 4 months ago we've done numerous fixes and even added another hotly requested feature: offline support!

Also, we now have just about 2000 active users! Thanks so much for sticking with us, and look forward to what we have planned next as we're nowhere near done :)

Hi, I've noticed a little problem since I've got 2 android devices: if I update my animelist on one device, the other device does not show the updated list. But if I press "Full Sync" on this device then the outdated list gets synced to my list. So it would be useful to have an update-function which just pulls the data from the API to get the updates which have been made on the other device.

EDIT: it's working correctly now, so maybe it was just related to the API issues lately.
