I think tht most of today's generation seems to deem English as more superior compared to their native tongue. Also i think that since english is our second language, we cannot 'feel' the weight of the words we use in it and the emotions are numbed a bit. E.g its way spookier (to me anyways) if someone says "raat ko qabrustaan chaltay hein" rather than "lets go to the graveyard at night". In the first case i'd be like "$^%!@ u, u lil' !$!#$^!! , pagal ho kiya?!" whereas i'd say "no way man, thts just stupid" in the 2nd.

anyways this is a random thread, y am i being so unrandom....:S :P

Wese, aap ne bilkul sahih farmaya. Urdu bolna mere liye thoda effort ka kaam hai since I can't speak KHAALIS urdu lekin apni zubaan ke lafzoon ka weight kaafi ziaada hota hai.

Yes, the example you gave is proof. It's true indeed.

LOL. see how much it makes an impact if u say the same thing in urdu?

so if we look it objectively, we all are cheap perverts when we drool and pour upon page after page of romance mangas or ep after ep of romance animes. :P

we're dying.

btw, i randomly picked up the bishie anime hakuouki.

shit mayn. it's not bishie. it's sexy men with amazing sword skills and brains. something every harem/reverse harem anime lacks. and i dislike harems. haven't seen a good one ever. hakuouki just might make the first.

sexy men with swords... <333333333

oh ofcourse my shizu chan is no.1.

which reminds me...

DURARARA IS OVER. MY LIFE IS OVER. ;_;

yet to see the last episode. I want lots of shizuo there. ;_;

I live in the UAE. It's filled with arabs. I've been here since 10 years. Not a trace of arabic in me. Even though I learned at school but forgot most of it. It's a difficult language. shame on me.

The arabic in Quran is different from the standard arabic spoken here. Very different. SO yeah, no use even if you learn arabic at school.

@Shoaib
Oh and I happen to live in Dubai too.
So yeah, our situations are identical. xD

i had been sick since saturday coz of a tonsils problem which surfaced on friday.

+ on sat morning when i went to a masjid to listen to Maulana Tariq Jameel's lecture/bayan... i learned what the feeling when ppl get trampled and die during hajj.
lol... ok no lol
it was just that i was in the inner hall of the masjid alongwith 100-150 more ppl. The Maulana were to arrive after 30 mins. The outer hall of the masjid was totally crowded by our desi pagal awam who were fanatically waiting for the doors separating the inner n outer halls to open. they had planned to rush as every person wanted to get as close to the mimber as possible... n with no windows and doors closed they had no idea that there were ppl already seated inside.

inside we were all in the center, the sides of the inner hall were vacant. the ppl in the management were so dumb that rather than opening the doors on the far left n right of the hall, they opened the ones in the center.

n like a dam when its gates are opened n water rushes out of the reservoir.. here ppl like totally swarmed in and as they had no idea of ppl already seated.. n were surprised to see us... n because they all just ran in blindly (not even caring that they were in a masjid).... they all ended up falling on the ones who were sitting... n they kept coming in n kept falling over us.... so many of the ones inside got trampled under like dozens of ppls feet... n there were cries... ohhh *shivers* scary... i was so sure ppl were gonna get crushed beneath what were like atleast 6 to 7 layers of ppl over everyone. all of the close to 150 inside all got buried under the human flood. i dunno how many times i got pushed down again n again... n the only thing i concentrated was to not let my knees touch the ground while continually pushing up using my back, arms were useless as there was literally no room to move them.

it was total hell... continued for abt a min or two, n when i finally got to stand, me and some others started pushing everyone back.... n i was so pissed off that im pretty sure i shouted some real "desi manly" words at them n i swear i wanted to beat the crap out of every single one of them and a fight would have definitely broken out only had it not been a masjid.

only thing i was glad that unlike many other ppl, my clothes were still in one piece...
...but that didn't last long....
.... a piece of my skin had torn off ...
... yup a piece of skin (lower skin-one that touches the ground) from my thumb (of my left foot) was missing.... how ... ?? i really dont know ??... but it was this: no skin and i could see my own flesh... and it was bleeding fast, so i forgot abt listening the bayan, mood he khatam ho gaya tha

ah hah!!...
khall bhi gaye.. bayan bhi na suna...phir 5 days tak bukhar bhi raha jis nay meray galay aur puray jism ki tou blast he kardee...
n although my thumb has healed much, i still cant walk easily :(

"...our faces marked by toil, by deceptions, by success, by love; our weary eyes looking still, looking always, looking anxiously for something out of life, that while it is expected is already gone – has passed unseen, in a sigh, in a flash – together with the youth, with the strength, with the romance of illusions.” - Joseph Conrad ('Youth')

Story for today:

My 3 year old sister locked herself up in the washroom. No, not because she was emo and wanted to cut herself, guests were around so she was shy.

So then, a good deal of time passes like half an hour and I notice her absence. Then a kid comes running to me and tell me that Amna (her name) is crying in the washroom. So I hurry up there because all grown ups were downstairs.
She wasn't able to turn the key so I told her to take it out and drop it on the floor at the base of the door. I wasn't sure she would be able to follow but she somehow managed to thrust it out and push it under the door.
The thing is that there was no visible space in the door, so me and 3 other kids pushed with all our might till a little space formed and I spotted a silver ring. I pick it up and try to unlock it.

Damn thing wouldn't turn. So then I get dad and he finally unlocks it.

STUPID JAMMED DOGGONE DOORS MAN!

But what I was surprised at was how a 3 year old could so easily and accurately follow instructions like that! (and my great abilities to instruct)
I mean I told her 'Chaabi RIGHT ki taraf ghumao! Phir se Ghumao. Jitni ghuumti hai ghumao. Ghumi ya nahin? Chabi waapis left ki taraf ghumao. Ghumali? Ab seedhi karo chaabi. Seedhi kar ke nikal. Apni taraf kheecho. Seddhi hui? Ab nikalo. Nikal kar darwaaze ke neeche push karo, meri taraf.'

I mean, if I was 3 years old and being told that I'd rather sit in the washroom till the break open the door or something
Actually something like that did happen to me. I'd gotten vaseline all over my hands and locked myself in. Now for THAT the door was broken down but that's another story.

So...aaj ki qaum kitni tez hoti hai. teen saal ke bacche bhi.
