| The question isn't whether Ryuk lied. Cause they did. Ryuk clearly said they wouldn't help Light out against L. He did this at least twice. Once, Ryuk found the locations of the cameras for Light, with the bribe for apples. And second, though most importantly.. Ryuk not keeping his word is the reason L died, pretty much. Because he wrote additional rules in the Death Note, giving Light enough time to trick Rem. Sure, given the circumstances, Light still could have managed to trick Rem into killing L without the fake rules. But, that's not what happened in the story, as in, that's not what led up to L's death, so that's not really important here.. So that's the, um, realization I had, I guess? Ryuk's actions to aid Light ended up in L's death, even though Ryuk told Light he wouldn't be helping him out. Right? |

| Around when Ryuk told Light about Raye following them around. It'd be chapter 5 of the manga and episode 3 of the anime. He says that he's 'Not on L or Light's side' and that he 'wouldn't be helping Light win against L' and that he wanted to make that clear. |
